I was visting a friend the other day, he raced Touring cars in the '70s. Anyway, he pulled out some old photos of hungry, with the bank firmly in place and nearly every photo had dead cars against the wall. How in Earth it stayed there for so long amazes me.

After Gregg Hansford removed the bank, a few banks still remained in the infield to 'slow' cars down. I will never forget the day Stephen Thompson in an Commodore Club Car used one as a launch ramp, and wound up hanging halfway up a tree...
Lukcily they installed a loose tyre wall before the Lites round last year to protect the old concessions stand and trees.... |

Ahh, memories... Like it was yesterday I recall watching Beechey fishtailing through the streams of water running across an otherwise dry circuit on the Friday before the 1964 International meeting...
Old Sid, he was a character... but I'm sure we've sidetracked a bit far from the point of the thread, the loss of the ALMS race. |
