hope memory helps me, but as far I can remember, 2014 porsche 919 had some kind of FRIC (a system introduced in f1 by mercedes the same year, but later banned). During le mans race, in late hours, rear supensions failed (because of V4 huge vibrations according to some rumors).
2015 919 was basically a whole new car from scratch under the bodywork, and if am I not wrong, FRIC layout was dropped.

Porsche announced publicly that they'd be running the 919 in a modified and unrestricted form throughout this year as a "farewell tour" to try and break some track records as well.

Yes. Looks like more of a sloped leading edge to try to get air over the fenders instead of around the side...because there's no BHH anywhere on it!
