Whats suprising here is that no one seems to be backing CL??? Don't get me wrong i am a Ford boy through and through but i have always been a CL fan right from the start when he raced at HRT. I would have loved to see him win the championship for the blue oval,he came close but we all remember what happend that year at PI.

Yes he has crossed over once again to the dark side but he is still a damn good steerer and will win another championship and a few more bathursts yet. Whincup may have had the measure of his team mate in the past few years but CL still has the goods to hand it to Whincup and for that matter the majority of the field.

However i am standing strong with my Tip of JC for the Championship and the 3 DJR cars in the Top Ten come years end. And DJR to win the Teams Championship in 2010 also.

Do all 3 cars count to the team DJR? or is it calculated differently?

Not Sure on How is is working yet, no information regarding the REC has been released, i have heard the DJR have purchased the Chassis from 888 and that will be for Mr Webb in terms of the REC i am uncertain.

I think it will be similar to the Dumbrell Entry for all intents and purposed it is a Works FPR Machine, with Nash Owning the REC.

It wouldn't go by the rec either, otherwise WP would be grouped as 4 cars. Someone mentioned in the silly season thread that BJR are the only 'real' 3 car team, guess its never come up before (since alll teams were no bigger than 2 cars before). Could make it a whitewash for the teams championship for certain teams......

Any one who thinks that the 2010 champion will come from any team other team than T8/HRT/FPR live in a fantasy world.

I personally would put DJR before FPR, they have been the leading Ford Team This Season (Taking into account the 888 are Hogsters and not Fords)

I expect DJR will slip down the field next year. As for FPR, well, they do have the potential to be the leading team in V8s. And I emphasise the word potential. Anyone who remembers, it took HRT 8 long years in various guises before they started to dominate in the late nineties.

My tip is JC, however as a CL fan I think he will have a bit of fire in his belly given Roland has come out and said that Jdub is the best 888 driver he has ever had. A bit of a slap in the face if you ask me. Jdub is great, but CL has been the perfect driver to lead the team, has played wingman often and almost took the championship in 2006. I would like to know how much Jdub would have achieved if not for Craigs influence.

DJR will have consistency and JC has shown he can stay up there if he stays out of trouble, wins in Sydney and Townsville were not flukes).

I think DJR will suffer the most from 888's move, even with extra $'s from Ford I think they will struggle with keeping the development up on the cars. I still think they have the best chance to be the leading Ford team.

FPR is really a one car team, I like Steven Richards but he simply isn't a serious threat to win anything. And if they then support Dumbrell racing they have just up another nice guy, mid field racer. To get anywhere they need someone who is fast every weekend... They don't have that.

Teams that will have better year in 2010. HRT, stability is always a good thing for a team, PMM because of their alliance with T8. SBR, again stability and Shane van Gisbergen will have another years experience under his belt. If Jason Bright goes to BJR, they will have a better year also.

Teams that will less competitive in 2010. T8, because of their switch to Holden. They will still win more races that most of the teams mentioned above. DJR because of T8s switch to Holdens. GRM, have stability and Lee Holdsworth on their side but I feel that PPM and BJR will improve more than GRM. And then there is FPR, the great under achievers of V8 Supercars. If they got their ****e together, they could dominate. But as people have said, Steve Richards is hopeless and I'm yet to be convinced that Winterbottom is an A grade v8 driver. Plus the management at FPR have a lot to answer for.

I'm shocked at two things...

1. Nobody is voting with me for CL. As others have said... He will have some fire in his belly; He's got something to prove to JDub; He's going to have huge fan support next year back at Holden; He hasn't been out of the top 5 championship wise for a long time; He's consistent;

2. A large percentage are voting for Courtney... The guy is quick but championships are about consistency and he just doesn't have that. I doubt he ever will.

I think the rason the CL is getting over looked is that while he is consistent he hasn't shown that outright pace of the very front runners for sometime. Tander, Davison and Wincup all have the same sort of consistency but also have more speed. Not to say he isn't going to be a threat.

I agree about Courtney, he has improved out of site in the latter part of this year, but I still don't see him as a genuine contender across the whole year.

I think it is hard to see the champion not coming from Tander, Davison or Wincup, for it to happen someone is going to have to step well up from current level, of course it could happen but I wouldn't be putting money on it.

You make a good point, but with 888 switching brands, and FPR being FPR... I think Holdsworth could be the real sleeper to take it to the HRT for the title.

The pace of the GRM cars on street tracks is very impressive. A few less mistakes and the #33 will be right up there.

Personally I don't think 888 going to Holden will hurt DJR as much as people think.

With the depth of teams and talent on the Holden side next year, anything less than a Bathurst win and championship is going to look very average for them.

For me, I'd like to see Will win the championship, DJR take Bathurst and the Giz to break through for a race win.

why is that a slap in the face? it's a fact Jamie won championships.. Craig didn't.

come on matt, back your words up

Im suprised by the current leader

i have fond memories of Sandown in 2002 when a guy came out and won the last race of the year, it set a high standard for 2003 , when he won the championship
