Yeah, I thought I recalled them raising a stink about the "cartel" of approved vendors and them being put out of business by not allowing them in. Especially given how at the time they couldn't do worse than Riley did with the first attempt

It'll be really stupid if Bentley decides to forego its GT3 V8 and goes with an Audi DTM engine. But I fear they'll go the path of minimum change. A livery and some round headlights.

some time ago read about audi considered their DTM L4 to endurance use, but the engine had huge vibrations issues.

That is a really good point about chassis availability, and do we think the ACO will just then continue to allow the current batch of LMP2's to race? That would alleviate the chassis supply issue for a few years.

So far it looks VAG has an exclusive deal with Multimatic. Is there an technical advantage for them compared to other manufacturers? I mean VAG can put all their design and development know-how into the new Multimatic chassis. Multimatic on their turn can take advantage from it for the new LMP2 car.
