2 X Postage stamps on there way to Network Ten

I think I will send two postage stamps to Network Ten in the off season. Why you ask, well quite simply I would ask Bill Woods and Mathew White to write there extensive knowlage and understanding of Motorsport on the back of them. On second thoughts perhaps a piece of confetti will do.

That is not nice, but it is bloody well true. I have being saying this about BWoods since 97 when Ch10 started car racing, he is a useful as a ashtray on a motorbike. Get someone in there that knows what to say, and No we don't want Oatsler back either, cause all he can see is that

these 1350 cars are a handfull

I have to agree with you guys what a disgrace woods is calling Murphy Rick Murphy & that cockatoo white is parroting the great comments that Neils makes.I also have to say that the coverage was not the best.

You have Ambrose in the lead & they focus on scafie & Murphy but in other races when scafie or Murphy are in the lead & Ambrose is back further they still focus on the Holden's.They must have shares in Ten or spend a lot of advertising dollars there.i guess racing is not racing these days.

You would think that TC would have paid for more air time in the coverage of the race instead of all those ads taking away racing coverage for the final round.

Yes i am a holden fun i just believe in fair playing ground because we the fans are the ones that lose out.

Yes thats the way, hopefully then they will get ****ed off at the complaints and give up the coverage to channel 7, cause that would be so much better wouldnt it?

Then we could have The weather man back to commentate as well as the tennis commentator's wealth of knowledge and very limited coverage like the Bathurst 24hr!

The coverage just seems to be getting worse every round, hopefully next year they'll be able to round up some knowledgable commentators that can keep the viewers correctly informed of what is happening.

Woods & White are arguably better than whatever 7 would provide (can you imagine Bruce Macavaney, everything would be "SPECIAL") , but if we're looking for ex-racers to commentate, what's Brock actually doing next year? Or we know for a fact now Bessy's looking for a gig.....

2 X Postage stamps on there way to Network Ten

Ch10 lay claim to be "The Home Of Motorsport" regardless of what motorsports they care to show, and in mid 2002 they promised us V8 Supercar fans more races to be televised in '03/'04 than ever before but has yet to surface. On the CAMS website CAMS state that in 2002 we enjoyed 75 hours of TV viewing now what a load of sh*t that is cause we only got 70.5 hrs and that was the AGP included. If that wasn't bad enough we lose on average between 8 to 14 laps per round due to the bloody ad breaks.

----------- Ch10's 2003 Coverage of the V8 Supercars without the AGP

Rnd - Date ---------- Circuit --------------------------------------- Telecast Times ---------- Hours

------------------------------------------------------------------Saturday ---------- Sunday
1 21-23 MAR 03-Clipsal 500, Adelaide --------------- 13:00 - 17:00 - 13:00 - 17:00 - 8 hrs
2 11-13 APR 03-Phillip Island Raceway ---------------------------------- 14:30 - 17:00 - 2.5 hrs
3 02-04 MAY 03-Eastern Creek Raceway ------------------------------- 14:30 - 17:00 - 2.5 hrs
4 23-25 MAY 03-Winton Motor Raceway -------------------------------- 14:30 - 17:00 - 2.5 hrs
5 06-08 JUN 03-VB 300 Barbagallo Raceway - Race 1 not shown - 14:30 - 17:00 - 2.5 hrs
6 27-29 JUN 03-Hidden Valley Raceway ------- Race 1 not shown - 14:30 - 17:00 - 2.5 hrs
7 18-20 JUL 03-Queensland Raceway ----------------------------------- 14:30 - 17:00 - 2.5 hrs
8 15-17 AUG 03-Oran Park Raceway ------------------------------------. 14:30 - 17:00 - 2.5 hrs
9 12-14 SEP 03-Betta Electrical 500 -------------------------------------. 12:00 - 17:00 - 5 hrs
10 09-12 OCT 03 Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 ----------- 12:00 - 17:00 - 07:00 - 17:00 - 15 hrs
11 24-26 OCT 03 Gillette V8 Supercar Challenge -- 11:00 - 17:00 - 11:00 - 17:00 - 8 hrs
12 07-09 NOV 03 New Zealand V8 International -- 15:00 - 17:00 - 14:00 - 17:00 - 5 hrs
13 28-30 NOV 03 Eastern Creek Raceway ---------- 15:00 - 17:00 - 13:00 - 17:00 - 6 hrs

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total = 64.5 Hrs
So where is the other 10.5 hours and races gone.?

Our commentators are useless (except cromley) and Ch10 are getting worse by the year, the best solution would be for Avesco to have Ch10 and Foxtel split the coverage 50/50 to keep both PTV and FTA viewrs happy. Basically if Avesco doesn't adopt this policy in the next 5 to 6 years PTV will eventually have the exclusive rights to cover most of our premier aussie motorsports.

In terms of quality of the coverage (and considering technology has come along abit in TV since 1996), Channel 7's coverage is far bettre than what Channel 10 serve us now, apart from the Timeslot.

Some of you may bag 7 and back 10, but remember that Oastler and Crompton got their breaks and learnt the ropes at Channel 7 (well, Neil did abit before on the ABC as well).

And really, after 7 years comparing 10s coverage to Ch7 is getting way too old. The facts are we are being given a below par performance by 10, and we shouldn't have tro put up with it.

YEAH RIGHT !! On that note, I dont understand why they dont have ex racers, or current racers, that dont race in the the Taxis, commentating. (Like TRACKSIDE) They do it in the Cricket,Rugby League, Tennis,Rugby Union ,Netball, and whatever!
Even some drivers who I wont bag here, I'm not usually a fan of,I find I get a surpise and they do a great job!

Bring on polished commentators like N.C. , who can explain first hand the ins and outs very fluently, without sounding like a know it all, he does a mighty fine job, BUT then to have to put up with a parrot, in the background trying to sound intelligent is a joke,You can tell by the tone of N.C's voice that he gets annoyed! Bring on the racers I say!
