I had heard rumours that Ollie O Donovan had bought it back but he has confirmed this isn't happening.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Probably sat at Mr Bardys place in Scotch Corner...

Wouldn't Alamaki's 205 be the most sucessful rallycross car ever?

Doesn't Andy Scott's son race in the RX150's or did I imagine that? Maybe the intention is for him to use it at some point in the future.

With three ERC victories in a row at least the most successful RX car in terms of importance.

That or one of Kenny's RS500's?

Norstedt's multi title winning Saab 900's

Egil Stenhausens Golf? these were all guys that won multiple titles in the same car, or car version, I know Kenny had at least 2 or 3 Sierras.

In fact the Schance RS2000 that Ludvig won with too is a contender, as are one of Kenny's old Xsara's?

The 205 T16 E2 of Matti was for all three titles the same car.
With the others I do not remember if they had just one or different cars over the years.
Egil Stenshagen: I do not remember if it was the same body, but in 1982 Egil had a 1.6 Golf and in 1983 he used at least the new 1.8 engine.

I think perhaps it depends on the criteria for most sucessful Rallycross car of all time; this car won with so many different drivers, over such a long period of time and if it runs again would still be a winner in the right hands......

If were on the subject what about the 309?
Was it chopped up to feed the 306?

The 309 still exists and was being prepared to run in saloon car racing as I recall. THe 306 was built separately and later had the old T16 based engine removed I think, with a 405 based unit installed.

The 306 in my opinion has won a lot of races over here yes, but not Europe wide. It was never a success in reality for Will in Europe.

And another reason it was a quick car here was that it was a spaceframe? Not hard to be quick when you have a besoke design rather than the frailties of the original car. So, it's lifespan was inherently longer than most modern cars. as the design makes it timeless really, you could drop any shell over that thing adn call it what you want. I thnk it's more 306 now than it was but still.

Thanks for the info chunder.
I have a feeling that I saw a pic of a 309 on facebook the other day but did not put 2 and 2 together.

Yes your right chunder the Pug 309 was going to be rebuilt for tarmac racing.

Let's not get confused with the old Thundersaloons of Paul McMillan and the Morris brothers. The ex McMillan car is already being used again and was painted yellow.

There's a thread somwhere on tenths that's got a bit more detail about the 309 - the new owner posted some stuff. From memory it was going to be RWD and running a Honda S2000 engine and gearbox.

Hi Bert is this the link you were talking about -

http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...ight=rear+fans

Tris try speak to Big Andy on the Circuit Racing forum as I think he had the ex McMillan Pug 309 but then sold it on. I could of course be getting my stories mixed up.
