Perkins never had #9.

Sorry my mistake, to be honest I don't even know where I plucked that one from.

You will have happy memories replaying that one Rusty, with your good mate Noddy in the background waving to Mr Plod in the crowd and doing everything he can to take your much deserved attention away from you.

Bathurst24hour, get a life, he was more than gracious with Russell winning and was enjoying the moment celebrating with his team mate.

Obviously your not a Ambrose fan!!, well done to Russell and SBR, and good luck to Ambrose, all fair dinkum Aussies will be watching him do well in the US.

I don't remember the rules saying that the champion has to win the most number of races in the year. Oh yeah, that's right... because he didn't have to.

Rusty did what he had to do this year and that was to be consistant - week in, week out. If everyone else is running themselves off the track and Rusty is just plodding along accumulating points each round, then good on him - he deserves it.

Good move from Perkins/Holden now, isn't it....

Look left, look in the mirror, or if you don't like wht you see close your eyes.

As has often been said before, Russell didn't get tthe name the "The Enforcer" for nothing and copped all the flak in the world for it. This year he drives with his head and all guys like you want to do is shoot him down AGAIN.

34, or so, drivers had the opportunity to do what Russell Ingall has done this year, and at the moment I only see one name on the trophy for 2005. If that is a problem then I suggest you follow golf. (Which is all that was on our channel this afternoon. ) Third most watched sport indeed!!!!!

I don't know about Ingall being a deserving winner... credit where its due, he was the most consistent driver in the field and accumulated the most points but looking at this tally in isolation...

Wins Ingal 0 Lowndes 6
DNFs Ingal 0 Lowndes 4

You'd think Lowndsey was a bit stiff given the points structure doesn't adequately reward wins in the championship.

Unless Ingall backs it up next year, his c/ship victory will be a hollow one.

obviously you were not there, so you can be forgiven for your naive comments. But as one of the thousands of Ford fans standing in the crowd, we were very thankful for marcos waving, why we couldn't here, there were no speakers at that part of the track so we couldn't here a thing, so marcos was just helping to no when to go off or when to be quiet so russell could get his pount accross.

Im guessing your probably a holden fan, but dont worry there is always 2010.

Well done russell, congrats on your big win, now you have the taste you will be hungary for more in 2006

i think yoiu may want to edit them they appear to be flawed. and i belive its wins 4 vs wins 1 you dont gets bonuses because you win a third of a round.

Points awards finishers (regardless of where) not DNFers.
Having said that I wanted either Ingall or Lowndes to win.
But I thought Tander did a damned good job this weekend.

So bite me.

Yeah Russell deserves it. He's already proven in previous years how good he is. This year he focused on nothing except winning the championship, and if that meant driving conservatively then so be it. No different than Alonso in F1.

Congratulations Rusty!

Great result for Russell, a deserving champion this year for a few reasons.

To just survive each race this year was a huge effort, and many drivers cracked under the pressure crashing out and being caught up in bad situations due to poor judgement. Russell largely kept himself clean and finished races. Remember, to finish first, you first have to finish!

I think next year we might see a return of the Enforcer to some degree now he has the title under his belt and the pressure of never winning the title has gone.

I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through

And we mean to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before
The whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose

And we mean to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions
