The entire race might be too much (how about a 21 hour race?).
Today has been fine though - would be cooler if was on a couple more corners but costs would knock that out of court. |

Would have been better if there was something better to look at in slo-mo....perhaps the monster girls on the grid? How many times did we look at the same (boring after the 1st veiw) shot.

Not so worried about the fancy slo-mo when there's not much else happening on the track.
I do think the in-ground curb cameras are a waste of space. I hate it when they cross to it when they racing is close. They may have had a 'wow factor' when first introducted but they are now a big, big yawn. And most annoying thing is the commentators protocol of not talking while they are being shown; why? We can still hear you, keep talking please! I reckon reserve any of the fancy shots for when there is a lull in proceedings, not when the action is hot. I do like the handheld camera that occasionally shows the action from the spectator mounds or grandstands, giving the perspective of what it would be like to actually be there (it wasn't used very often so you may have missed it). |

do you mean that camera angle before turn 20? thats one of the top spots to see the cars zooming past at 300 kays, I love that shot..that and the one at turn 8 are my favourite, and the foot cam is pretty good seeing how they drive these cars and how they handle them are great viewing on TV.

The slo mo and the kerb cam can be kept for the closing credits and intros, fade outs and fade ins. Dont do the arty stuff when there is action on the track! Those bloody kerb cams are always shown on lap 1, when often a lot of action occurs. My thought is, don't use if it it adds nothing to the core of the sporting event right at that time. You can use it for highlight reels and other cuts, as I mentioned above. My big tip of the day is mute the volume on ads. The ads are still bloody annoying, but not by half if you can't hear them. |

Why can't they run the ads along the bottom of the screen as has been suggested a billion times before?

Unless it is in relation to an accident or mechanical issue with a car, I can do without the super slo-mo
On a slight tangent, one of the best parts of the coverage IMHO was the Mark Larkham pit report from the SBR pits before a Van Gisbergen pitstop. He managed to point out the pitcrew and their role just before the car came in for the stop. It looked pretty urgent, and I'm sure the pitcrew weren't too pleased with his presence, but I thought it was great Last edited by db120176; 8 Oct 2012 at 01:24. |

How would they be doing "over 300km/h" this year when in the past they were on the limiter at around 280-290km/h........
Was there a diff ratio change I havent heard about? |

well that was according to the expert commentators, and they have been clocked over 300 km/h in the past. dont think that camera angle was invented back then to catch it. Think drifting is tough. Try it on gravel, in the dark, amongst trees............... btw your sig should look like this mate ^ |

At some tracks they should go a little taller in the diff.
Maybe after next year. |

there is a bit of tyre growth when you're near 300km/h, if it is enough to lift them from the 297/298km/h ratio limit who knows, your guess is as good as mine...

Depends which "in the past" you're referring to. There was definitely a diff ratio change for Bathurst a few years ago but I think it's been the same now for 4 or 5 years (ish).

Meh - I teach maths and science. Who needs to spel and rite proper Was basing my comments on the incar stuff from over the last few years, which tere was very little of this year. Guess the commentators didnt want to be made to look like dicks. Last edited by coln72; 9 Oct 2012 at 02:55. |

Yes. In the past they ran 3.25:1 and top speed was 298km/h. A couple of years ago they mandated a 3.15:1, only at Bathurst, and top speed is now 305km/h.
