Future Grands Prix?

Think F1 should give up trying to convince the world that they are improving the lot of people in the various in these iffy countries that want races.
Just sit back and let football and golf take the big hits and the general population will view F1 as a money driven operation and nothing else.
Can’t see Bernie ever trying to convince the world about its political stance.
I was speaking to a very well known golfer yesterday and was told there is not enough money in the world to entice a trip to Saudi.
I then asked how many of the fellow pros agreed with that view,About 5 % was the answer!

I mean it sucks that F1 doesn't really care where its money comes from. Personally i think taking tobacco money is pretty horrendous but i made peace with that in order to keep watching.

Definitely gonna watch the upcoming races so dont feel as though im in a position to point my finger at what anyone else does.

I can both understand and lament the hypocrisy of this.

Evidenced by his giving Tony Blair a million pound bribe, for the Labour Party's (the new government) coffers on the understanding that they would permit a delay in the implementation of the tobacco advertising rules in the UK. They actually didn't because of pressure from many quarters, and when the news about the bribe surfaced, the Party was forced to give the money back to Mr E.

I think that the EU had to delay due to a EU court ruling, but the UK went earlier through our own parliamentary process.

As for Bernie getting his money back, I have a sneaky feeling, and I have no proof or evidence for this so might be totally wrong, that either Mr E, or someone on his behalf, briefed the media about the purpose of the payment knowing that the Labour Party would probably be shamed into returning the money.

'Lewis Hamilton says Formula 1 is "duty-bound" to raise awareness of human rights issues in Qatar at the country's maiden grand prix.

F1 boss Stefano Domenicali told BBC Sport this week the sport could help promote change by racing in countries such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Hamilton said: "As sports go to these places, they are duty-bound to raise awareness for these issues.

"These places need scrutiny. Equal rights is a serious issue."'

Formula 1 renews its deal with the Spanish Grand Prix until 2026

'The Spanish Grand Prix has signed a new contract to remain on the Formula 1 calendar at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya until 2026.
The organisers have agreed to upgrade the race track and facilities in time for next year's grand prix on 22 May.
It will be the sixth race on a record 23-grand prix schedule.'

It’s actually had some decent races recently, certainly better than Abu Dhabi. And it has a great atmosphere too

And I’m not sure anywhere else in Spain would be better. Jerez and Valencia Street Circuit spring to mind

No, seriously it is a dullfest! The teams and drivers know everything about the place. The Spanish fans would go anywhere else to see Alonso and Sainz especially if they get a good race for their admission.

Motorland Alcañiz (as it’s called on the FIA circuit list) does have the advantage of already being a Grade 1 track.

They don’t test much their anymore. And this year’s event was quite good. Plenty of battles going on.

That's Aragon as we know it? Great circuit. Huge back straight slow corner on to it, slow corner off it. Good for overtaking. Circuit has a nice bit of elevation change and blind corners.
