I guess you're referring to Toll, really, they went with Tander.
I think he's implying that when Garth won his championship he was promoted to HRT taking the no.1 plate and sponsor with him. I remember the Kelly's being pretty dark about the whole deal.

The Toll deal originally came thru Mr Tratt, who landed the sponsor branding at HSVDT in the first place. Mr Tander clearly clicked with Mr Little, as Little Real Estate is still a personal sponsor of Mr Tander..

Correct, Tander is close with Paul Little.

So basically HRT was never ANYTHING like FPR, price slashing and pinching sponsors over and over again.

expected to undergo a test with Matt Stone Racing ahead of a possible drive in the Dunlop Super2 development series.
Before that, however, Eaton will join Porsche Carrera Cup Australia series champion Jaxon Evans for an evaluation day in a Walkinshaw Andretti United-prepared Holden Commodore at Winton Raceway.
“We know she is exploring her options for the 2019 season, but it’s fantastic that we can provide the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a Supercar for the first time,” Walkinshaw Andretti United co-team principal Bruce Stewart said.

So Chaz could have Tickford, Penske, 888 and BMW all chasing his signature.
His next contract might be a nice earner.

There's just a sniff of SVG-style discontent about Chaz at the moment.

I wonder how he will go with the relationship with the team this year.

If rumours are true that both 888 and DJRTP are interested. No matter how good a year he and Tickford have, the lure might be too great.
Does 888's interest extend to the Supercheap money too?

Chaz had a front row seat to how both Stanaway and Winterbottom elected to handle their departures.
One would think he's professional enough to keep it in house.

A source close to the team suggests Mr Mostert had his fair share of blow-ups last season.

Given the supposed interest in him from elsewhere, I'd say he'll just what's necessary to get through the season, and jump ship.

Rumour mill has him at Penske.

Frankly I'm surprised he's stayed at FPR / Tickford this long. His obvious talent is wasted at that outfit. He should be fighting for wins at every event, just needs the car and team to do it with.

The question is... does Mr Waters also fall under that category?

Any driver would have to have rocks in their head if they didn't accept an offer from DJR/TP.

Nope. Mr Waters seems to be in the Slade/Percat category of above average, but not an ace.

Most of them have been very well credentialled.

Hell his enduro co-driver is still viewed as one of the best GT drivers around.

Dahlgren's WTCC record speaks for itself.

I am worried that Scotty likes a setup nobody else can drive, like Frosty.

The actual worry for Holden fans is SM will score back to back title victories, and then some.

That's on top of their concern for the demise of the Holden brand, 888's unknown future manufacturer alliance, etc.

See you make my point for me. Were they ordinary or could they not drive the car SM was setting up?

Perhaps like Skaife back in the day on Yokahamas or Lowndes on the Bridgestones just after the tyre pressure regulators were taken away.
