It was confirmed before in german media, that R-Motorsport won´t present their car there. So, not a surprise...

The DTM cars are essentially all the same with silhouettes. All they have to do is make a buck and bung an AM-look body on in place of the Merc-look body they’ve put in the skip.

How much would it take to "redress" old Mercedes chassis into Aston? Rear arches look a bit strange - is the original car too fat in that region compare to a Mercedes?

Edit: From the rear arches look as usual but still something is wrong with that car. Window top line between B and C pillars looks different from a road car definitely. It's an old Mercedes with some style bits from Aston.

Definitely just a reworked Mercedes, and clearly a lot of the styling is limited by the DTM rules, but I think its a pretty car in general.

They say it's a 2l 4-inline. But, of course, without jet-ignition as any kind of R&D is forbidden in DTM - as it's just a show, unlike GT500 which is still being a racing laboratory. And I hope it will stand like this in the future, otherwise there's no sense in wasting my time on "racing".

I don't know about Citroen, someone from PSA said that they won't compete in any series that uses combustion engine...

I'd love to see Alfa join but it's just a wishful thinking and unlikely scenario. Judging by Aston Martin's involvement, manufacturers interest in DTM is, unfortunately, very little.
