Terence Bower should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Actually Mike, no your not.
It's an excent car for the money. Cayman S is quite outstanding around my home track. Far nicer than any M3.

For me the current Corvette and Aston come close behind the Bentley for visual presence and noise. Then the AMG. Maybe because they’re all front engined, and V8 / V12!

Sad that the next gen Corvette will be mid engined Turbo V6. It looks and sounds like an Accura (NSX) in the clips from testing.....

Yes its sad they probably won't use any leaf spring in the suspension either!
During several press launch the 'Vette engineers were proud to announce better road handling abilities than any other car. After some questions they admitted that the "juge de paix" was a round skidding pad.

I liked the NSX but you can find it either too heavy or underpowered. And the traction control is terrible… Kind of on-off system at least on the first generation. May be some of the cars entered at Le Mans still belong to the German subsidiary (museum?).

Am I correct in thinking that our beloved HMRC have a poor record of winning cases they bring for back tax payment?

I wonder how much this latest fail cost the rest of us....

It's the old "master and servant" theory. If as an employee you receive a computer/tools, a desk, phone and of course a pension, you are a servant. If you provide all the things you need to perform the service you are paid for and your own pension etc. you are a consultant or contractor.

Great day @ Curborough with AMOC.

It wasn't timed just some great people having fun in great cars.

A DB7, 3 DB9's and 3 Vantages (1 a Convertible), joined by a Boxster, a Noble M12 GTO, a Lotus Exige 430 (probably the fastest car out there) a BMW325i and the AMOC Chairman Anne Reed's Abarth 595 which drew smiles from everyone that drove it.

I was at Curborough last Friday. I hired it for a few mates from the Castle Donington Motor Club and invited guests from the Rolls Royce Motor Club. I took my tarmac rally Escort for its first outing since i bought it 2.5 years ago. Hilarious fun.
Also out were a HSCC E Type, a Brabham F3 (pre Goodwood shakedown), a 3 litre Mk1 Capri CSCC racer, several MX5 and a C1.

Which course did you use?

We ran on the figure of 8 which was a bit tight for some people.

They always got very high marks for ride and handling, even the early ones. Engineered by a clever man. Not sure if all had them, but most I’ve seen use mid / transverse turbo Ford V6. Very quick! There was one next to us in the box at Silverstone on Tuesday. Popular track day weapons......

Top section in the morning and full course in afternoon. Drivers could run whatever route they wanted, and could do several laps of the top section.

Did anyone else see the latest barn find (well, actually it was in a home's garage) of the 1936 built Bentley constructed, apart from the body, from out of date parts and reconditioned parts dating from 1931.

The car sold at auction in a pretty dilapidated condition after not being driven for over 30 years, and fetched the princely sum of £450,000.

Well rareity indeed, but a great one. Despite it’s lesser condition, still a good fetch at that price, but no surprises there

Harping back to the ferry that sunk, I have dived on the "Zenobia" in Cyprus that sank on it's maiden voyage filled up with Volvo trucks and cars.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Zenobia
I did take a load of pictures at the time as we got right inside, however mine weren't very good as I didn't have a very good camera with me as this was about 30 years ago.

Great thanks! OK the Minis "receive a bit" in the straights but they can match on one lap. I like the font of the letters Frigidaire or Chevrolet style used by this chain. Classy and almost period correct.
Dont you have an Escort cup there?
