GCCheddaris should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
How sad, just five GB3 meetings in Britain and no visits from the other series.

Yes. Other than F1, MotoGP, WSBK and GTWC, the Brexit is real.

Just reminiscing about weekends spent at Thruxton and Castle Combe, neither of which seem to be able to attract top line (at a national level) single seater racing, other than the BTCC supporting Formula Four at Thruxton. Apparently it seems, to feature in one of the Regional series a circuit needs to be either a current or former Grand Prix track.

It’s not Brexit so much as Silverstone which has become a pain in the arse to deal with. Other than F1 and Moto GP no international series go there now.

WEC and ELMS have stopped coming to Silverstone so their support races don’t come either. DTM has reduced in scope so it’s almost a German domestic series now, so DTMs trip to Brands has disappeared so its support races don’t come either. There are plenty of UK based teams racing in ELMS and FRECA so there’s no insurmountable barrier to being based in the UK and competing in European series. Increasingly British domestic series are including European rounds, more so than before Brexit/Covid.

Well if's just Silvetstone that's the issue, why don't we have the major internatiomal series at other UK venues then.
Donington or Snetterton are equipped to hold WEC or GTWC Endurance.

I’m not sure they’d love the 1970s style pits etc.

SRO GT do use Brands, as they have done previously. They used to use Silversone, but not anymore. WEC and ELMS used to use Silverstone but not anymore due to disputes over money with the ACO as has been posted on this site several times. The other UK tracks are either less accessible, have poor facilities by 2023 standards or are more suited to bikes.

There are quite a few circuits in Europe now to choose from with recently updated facilities to grade one standard. Mugello, Zandvoort, Imola etc.

Silverstone don’t seem very interested in hosting international series other than F1 and Moto GP. You can understand the reluctance from a purely financial standpoint but it provides a raw deal for UK motorsports fans.

Yes i'm aware it's down to money but it was suggested that Brexit was to blame?

Donington could host GTWCE Peebee... There were 49 cars at the 1994 Class 2 World Cup. A few entrants had more than one car per garage but hey ho.

Does anyone have any idea what the budgets are for the for series mentioned above ? It can't be cheap travelling from one end of Europe to another in pursuit of Super License points. I thought the original idea behind the Regional series was for each country to hold their own series, thereby making them reasonably accessible for Formula Four graduates. That seems to have gone out of the window !
