Do pre-war Brooklands races count for FIA HTP qualification?

Hello,

To get an HTP, a car needs to have run in at least one “International Permit event being run to the CSI/FIA regulations of the day”.

I wondered whether anybody knows whether the major races at Brooklands in the Vintage era count for this? I am thinking of the Essex Motorclubs Six Hour Races in 1927 and 1928 in particular.

Any clues on how to find out would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Craig

Sounds like one for John Ruston. He's at Spa this weekend but will no doubt return next week.

You would need to give the exact dates, event name, category, make, model and entry so I can try to look into this please.

We tried using Brooklands history on one of the cars but virtually all the races were national or club racing and did not count for HTP’s.
Had an extremely difficult job with Alta despite them running in the first TV race at Crystal Palace and had to use Chimay as reference. One of works BGH 23 Talbots got theirs having done RAC rally and Alpine Trial.
Luckily the other BGH 21 car did South African GP etc
It could be difficult to get papers on a club race at Brooklands but MSA and their principals work to a rigid structure which is sensible or you would have all sorts of specials applying.
