Alain Menu!

Hmm now I see why everyone here doesn't like Alain Menu! I just bought the BTCC 1997 review on tape and I can see why he is considered arrogant!

Going into the last round Menu had already secured the championship. His team-mate Plato was leading the first race and could have taken second in the champion but Menu was having none of it and barged past to take another win. With Frank Biela in 8th it meant that even if Plato won the second race and Biela not scoring Plato would still lose out on second in the championship by a single point. And that's exactly what happened. Let's just say that JP was not best pleased and the atmosphere in the paddock afterwards was somewhat frosty.

I think that's why a lot of 10-tenths fans have been turned off by Menu. . I really was too and especially his behavior after he won the championship. He was like, "I'm the best ever!!" blah blah blah...

It was a pretty dumb move by Menu, seeing as he had moved over for Plato at the Brands Hatch meeting. After the way Plato felt, as i was surprised they actually were co-drivers at Bathurst 3 or so weeks after that in the Renault, Plato showed him up that day.

And after his behavior in the 1998 championship (which I have just seen) I detest Menu!!!

First of all, he has to ram Radisich off when Paul was going to pit on that lap, then he rams Cleland and Thompson at the final round!! What is Alain's problem?????

Also, I was hysterical when Rickard Rydell goes after Anthony Ried at Brands Hatch when Reid bumps Rydell out of the way so that he could win the race.
