I'll leave my moaning for elsewhere ......

Congrats Russell! I was happy to see him win, if only for the pure joy it brought him.

Congrats to Russ for a well deserved championship & great to see someone so excited to win it. Congrats must also go to the Stones on their 3rd straight championship & to Craig & Marcos for fighting to the very last, it was great to see Marcos win what could be his last race here too.

I would also like to add my congratulations to Russell Ingall. He drove with his head AND his heart for once and it brought him a great result.

As a massive Ingall supporter it was absolutely fantastic to see him win the Championship.

To all the knockers, he totally changed his driving style and approach to win this Championship. For those Johnny-come-latelys who don't know, when he landed back here full-time in 1996 after winning at Bathurst with Perkins in 1995, he took the field by surprise with his style of driving and has been said, copped so much flak for it he was the man in the black hat bar none. Well, what a difference now. People still pull things down.

Quite the showman at the end of the race too.

best burnouts in the history of motor racing ... just GREAT to see him finally pull it off (even better in a Ford).

Rusty you rock, we all love you!!

To the team behind THE Man, Baz, BL, Matty, Garden Boy, Jimmy, Ross, Di, et al, your hard work, busting hours underneath and around the car have paid off. I hope you are all still celebrating into the wee hours of tomorrow too!

To Jody - I hope they made you smile mate! Take care.

Congratulations to one of the really nice guys in the sport. Russell has always had time for a chat or to sign things at the races. He never seemed to think he was bigger than the fans. If it wasnt to be a Holden championship I am really glad that it went to Rusty. Well done Champ.

Pity about that parity, eh? Bathurst was the ONLY significant thing Ford DIDN'T win this year!

TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Just slightly off topic abit, will Rusty now carry the #1 in 06? and with JC carrying #4 who will carry #9 in 06.

What do you reckon, he'd have to practise those donuts surely hanging outside like that?

He's the champ, good on him and SBR, awesome effort and a great years racing.

Under the rules the number one is held by the franchise as long as its driver has the number one. courtney could use number 9 if SBR wanted him too, but i think he will be using 4 which is marcos's old number which has been vacant the last two years

Until Lowndes slapped the wall after 20 laps that was looking quite good too.

Great to see too! I loved it.

There should be more of it... have the officials slackened off from their strict anti-hooning policy? I recall both Skaife and Bright were penalised points when one of the HRT crew members did a burnout in the carpark during one round.

The parity is there... let's leave that one alone!

PI is a good measure of a car's aero and mechanical grip. If a brand were lacking in the aero department it would have showed up the disparity...which there isn't.

I remember Bright doing some outrageous burnouts when he won his first round for SBR at Hidden Valley in '99.

They were the best ones I can recall where a driver stayed completely inside their V8Supercar.

I think Russell has invented a new category for donuts whilst hanging outside the car - currently he is winning that one.

Petter Solberg has been doing that for a lot longer than Rusty.

OK, let's change the new category to "Best Donuts While Hanging Out of the Car by a Guy with Half a Right Index Finger".

Better .... ?
