JIMGOD should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
HSCC Donington 4th-5th October

Got tickets and final instructions for this meeting.
Some big grids and should be a fantastic weekend.
At moment have 3 new recruits down for this meeting so please look after them as usual.
90 minute enduro as last race of day on saturday should be fun.

This will be my first time at Donnington, so a couple of questions.
Where's the marshals campsite and will I be able to get on it on Friday afternoon?

WFM: You'll be ok from Friday afternoon - go to the main paddock entrance, tell them you're there for marshals camping and they'll wave you in (put your car pass up though). Through the barrier turn immediately left onto the grassy area there and that is the marshals camping area.

Edit - as it's forecast a bit wet this week, probably best to stay to the top side of the hill, between the toilet and shower blocks. Down the bottom by the perimiter wall can get a bit soggy.

It's a shame Alan will not be there. I had you down as Chief Pits and with the pitstop races you would have been busy.

Still, I do have another couple of volunteers and I am sure they will cope.

Jimgod - please bring a stopwatch if you have one!!

I look forward to seeing you all there.

If you have not received tickets please PM me with names and addresses and I will get some more sent out.

Regards

Fay

Coppice entrance is not being used now.
Access to Craner is via Paddock gate, get onto track at bottom of the loop and off on the inside of Redgate.

Found out Coppice entrance was open today, but assured it will be locked tomorrow.

Some fantastic racing today,
Shortened lunch break.
Weather held but wind was biting cold at times.
Last race 90 minute Enduro was good, some lovely cars.
2 safety car periods and red flagged with about 2 minutes left.
Shame Sauber Mercedes seemed to have lots of problems.
All done by 6pm and home by 7pm
Should be another excellent day tomorrow.

On behalf of myself and everyone at HSCC I would like to thank all the marshals for their hard work over the weekend.

Saturday went relatively smoothly, but Sunday was a totally different matter. Things were constantly changing and the fact that we ran the entire programme due to everyone pitching in was almost a miracle.

We know that Sunday ended up being a long day, but please be assured that all the staff and drivers really appreciated you all.

I know that by the time we cleared everything away I was freezing cold and I would guess the rest of you were as well.

If anyone has any comments then please let me or the office know.

Regards

Fay

Thanks Fay,
First visit to Donnington was really enjoyable, despite the weather.
Thanks to Fay for asking me to flag at post 7, what a great view, though I don't think I've flagged in winds quite that strong before, the whole post was shaking, well done to all the flaggies on Saturday.
Wimped out of camping, very pleased I did. Stayed at Underhill Cottage in Burgess-on-the hill. Well recommended, I can PM details to anyone interested.
Took a look around the museum on Friday, very impressive, especially if you like McLaren MP4s and Canon Williams'.
Great racing on both days, especially the group Cs and so nice to see the Tyrell 006. Well done to the organisers for being patient with the weather and moving the time table around so that the Group Cs, Derek Bell and Classic FF could have a decent race on a dry track.
IMHO, driver of the day has to be Simon Hatfield in the Derek Bell trophy race, he nearly lapped the whole field!

Only comments i have for everybody who was involved in running this meeting is:-
Thank You and Well Done.
Especially for the Sunday.
Working in Pits i know how much the drivers appreciated the Marshals throughout the day, especially the morning.

Thanks to all who looked after my new recruits over the weekend, this was much appreciated by me, and them, as i have already had feedback from some who have not been put off by the conditions on Sunday and might be back as soon as next week.
