Back on the McLean ownership of a PWR car, I am not actually sure that happened.

From memory, there were 2 different AU's run by the team, an AU built up by the team under father John (who also built several other cars over the years), and owned by Greenfield Mowers as discussed above, and a second AU that was the previous PHR chassis, run in VIP Petfoods colours, that ended up in Sir Speedy Thexalot's garage!

Again from memory, Mr McLean ran the red ex-PWR AU for Howard Racing in the development series, and had no end of trouble with it all season..

McLean ran the Ex DJR EL for season 99

Ex PWR AU (chassis 001?) for season 00

In house built AU for season 01

Ex PHR AU for season 02

[QUOTE=B!tchie Renault;2678192]From the Info I have:

PWR01 was built in 1999, campaigned as Car 43 for the year, went to Cameron McLean in 2000, Then Munday in 2001 to become the Chance of a lifetime car.

PWR02 was built in 2000 and used as Car 43 until enduros when PWR03 was debuted. PWR02 was then Car 45 (Canto in 2001)

PWR03 was built in 2000 and used in enduros, and Car 43 for 2001 until enduros.
PWR04 was built in 2001 and used in enduros, and Car 43 for 2002 until Phillip Island.
PWR05 was built in 2002 debuted at Phillip Island.

PWR moved to Commodores in 2003

In 2004 the Howard Racing team campained 3 x PWR Falcons in the development series which I understood to be 03,04 & 05 and I thought one of these cars was sold to Adam Sharpe and sent to England.

The other Cameron McLean Falcons are:

Greenfield Mowers AU - Ran as Car 40 in 2001 which then went to Peters' Motorsport
ex. Prancing Horse Racing AU (PHR14) built in 2001, but sold to McLean in 2002 and run under VIP Pet Foods Car 40 that year.[/QUOTE

Generally pretty right I think. Here's a few extras:

1. PWR#1. This went as B!tchie says. Dave Russell ran the COAL car. The shell ended up with the Seiders family as a spare, when they were racing the ex Tratt AU.

2, PWR#2. Again, correct. The car was bought by Terry Steer for Dean Canto to run in 2001. It then went to Howard Racing where Tim Gordon drove it. It was then sold to John Henderson. I think a collector now has this in Sydney.

3. PWR#3. This chassis was also bought by Howard and run during 2003 and 2004. I think this is the chassis which was sold to a Kiwi, in 2005 I think, who ran it in the endurance series in the South Island. Mark Howard co-drove one year as part of the deal. That car was on the market a couple of years ago and I think was purchased by Team Kiwi, where it was re-skinned as a BA/BF and used as their ride car. I think it still lives in TKR's workshop in NZ.

4. PWR#4. This chassis was also purchased by Howard Racing and I think is the chassis in question, which Adam Sharpe took to the UK in 2004/2005. He already had an ex Tratt AU and he ran them in the Britcar series in the UK.

5. PWR#5. Again, this car was bought by Howard Racing. It was run by Sharpe in the 2006 Fujitsu series and was then sold at the end of 2006 to Garry Willmington, to use as a base for his new "V8 Giant" category. The car was then bought by Darren Saillard at the end of 2007 to replace his ex Longhurst EL. Although Darren now runs an ex FPR AU re-skinned as a BA, I believe he still owns PWR#5.

6. The ex Greenfields Mowers AU was run by Rod Dawson for Brett Peters and then for Barry Tranton in the Fujitsu series. I think Dawson or Tranton still owns the car.

7. The ex PHR/VIP car was sold to David Thexton. From there, it went to Matthew White (as a job lot when he bought the Thexton BA) and then to Peter Vicary, who ran it in Gulf Western Oil colours in the TCC. I believe the car now resides in WA, although it was for sale a little while ago.

I think these are different cars. The cage work is different, so I think one is the Tratt car and one is the PWR car.

Gotcha! Sorry, I thought you had one of the ex Sharpe cars.

PWR#2 must have come over in 2007, as Henderson was still driving it here in 2006. Don't know where the orange cage came from though, as it was white here.

here a bit of a low down on the car history, curtasy of Aaroon Noonan

PWR 02
DEBUT‹Paul Weel, 2000 Australian GP support races Build new at beginning of the 2000 season as an AU and run by Paul Weel that season, up until chassis #3 was introduced for Sandown. Greg Crick put car into top 10 shootout at QLD 500 that year.
Car was sold to Terry Steer though Weel retained use for Indy, complete with crash. Became Dean Canto¹s car for Bathurst with QLD FF steerer Ian Moncrieff before being Canto¹s car in 2001 SCS.
Failed to pre-qualify for handful of rounds, car re-painted white and used by Scifleet/ McGill at QLD 500 and Scifleet/D¹Agostin at Bathurst.
Placed up for sale in 2002 but bought for the 2003 KV8 series for the Howard Racing squad. Bought by Tim Gordon and used by him in the 2003 KV8 Series racing alongside Mark Howard in the Howard Racing team.
Gordon ran it in two rounds in 2004 before it was sold to John Henderson, who raced it in Bathurst 25 lap race and then in the HPDC V8 Series in 2005 and also in 2006.
Went to England in 06/2007 thanks to Graham Nash and had a Saleen 7-litre motor put into it.
