Here, then, is a question that I'm sure has been asked many times over the years; now that the "mystery" of selection has taken place what happens next, are there officials appointed who go through the names like a school yard team selection with the fat wheezy boy chosen last or is it infinitely more scientific than that? Like just sharing all the bods out? I am assuming it isn't like a brscc meeting where you get asked where you want to go or like a 750mc meeting where they ask who you want to Marshal with, so assuming it is somewhere in between does anyone know or is it the next in a series of surprises?

While I'm accepting my invitation, I'll also accept the kind offer of a doughnut. Can't decide between jam, apple or custard so just bring a selection & that'll save me having to disappoint any of them

I'm out of the country for a while so don't know if a letter has arrived for me. Can someone tell me the date confirmations have to be back to IMS, and is the a list available anywhere of who's in?

Well I've made it at the second time of trying. I was prepared to be gutted again, but delighted when I read that I'd made it. Very much looking forward to getting set up on the campsite and being part of it all with my fellow wearers of orange. Roll on June!!!

Does anyone know how big the campsite is ?
Are we allowed to use a campervan/motorhome rather than using a tent on the officials campsite? |

It's... quite big.
Yes. But if the weather is like last year you might want to bring a tractor with it! |

The field is quite large. Starts level near the entrance gate and then slopes considerably.
No electric hook ups and it will turn into the swamp from hell if it rains. Bring plenty of chocks to level your machine. If you can't get out at the end, they have v.large JCB things that will do the job, so check out your towing eyes/system before you leave. Plots are long and narrow, plenty for a campervan unless it's like a Winnegago with Jodrell Bank in its roof. If you decide your plot is unserviceable than you can move without too much fuss. Your plot is chosen for you and will be in your final confirmation details. Reasonable bogs provided top and bottom of field, disposal points, plenty of good showers, a small shop and good company. Spare cars must have a sticker and are supposed to be parked near the edges of the field although no-one does. Be advised, although security patrolled, ne'er-do-wells and riff-raff do get in and nick anything that isn't secure. |

Just a question about the guest pass. Is it the same as a general admission pass rather than a particular seat in a grandstand?
My wife will be my 'guest' so I'll now have to buy a ticket for my 9 year old son and I want to make sure I buy him the equivalent pass to what my wife will have. |
