Well, 6 posts in and I'm already upset with this forum, I think I'll just turn up at the race meets, have a great days racing, meet some nice people face to face and let you petty little people get on with it on here. It was a legit question that could have had a very simple answer, I can't really tell you how disappointed I am with my experience on here and don't think I'll be recommending it to anyone.

This forum is like life really. You get the odd poster who believes its there right to tell everyone what to do and cause upset and just seem to come on here to do that and moan. and then theres a larger quieter majority who just let every piece of tension on here pass them by. Most people on this forum imo are the sort that you'll meet on the bank and will be really nice but then you'll get the odd one as is mentioned on here regularly that all they do is moan.

Also the problem with communication on a forum like this is that every word you can say can be interpreted in easily 20 different ways and unlike face to face where you can judge that on here its more difficult.

Im sure if you look around the rest of the forum and ignore the more negative posts you'll get a better experience from the forum

Mattt has it about right, filter out the negativity and this can be a good place to have a laugh, ask questions, or share views, sure there are going to be differences of opinion - that is the human condition, but these things have to be kept in context. Everything has a downside somewhere - just filter it out and enjoy the forum, the positives far outweigh the negatives

Just My Opinion.... YMMV

As far as I know the answer is yes, assuming she is well enough to do so.

Guys, I'm sorry to tell you all that Your Racing Car.com have been forced to cease their sponsorship of the BMMC so overalls subsidy will now only be £20. Along with my colleagues on Council we are working hard to source other sponsors for the club and will keep you informed of any developments.

Increased sponsorship of overalls!

Fantastic news! The BMMC are proud to announce SUNBAC as a new sponsor of overalls for members.

The Sutton Coldfield and North Birmingham Motor Club (SUNBAC) have made a generous donation to the club, to be used to assist marshals with the purchase of overalls.

From 4th January 2011 all new overalls purchased from AWS Racewear, our sole supplier, will carry SUNBAC sponsorship on the right sleeve.

This kind donation has allowed the club to offer an additional £10 subsidy to members, bringing the total subsidy through sponsorship to £37.

Mike Newton and the AD Group have agreed to increase their sponsorship to £17 per set. Mike has been the clubs longest serving sponsor as well as being Vice President. Many of you will remember Mike’s sponsorship through Dedicated Micro’s and latterly through another group company Remguard. The new sponsorship deal will revolve around Mike’s main company, The AD Group which many members will already be aware of through Mike’s motor racing link with RML.

NGK Spark Plugs are so happy with their sponsorship arrangement with the club and the exposure it has given them in national press and television that they have agreed to extend their support of the club into 2011.

AWS Raceware continues as our sole supplier and we thank them for their on-going support and generosity in supplying the overalls at a special discounted price to our members.

On behalf of our members I would like to thank all our sponsors and supporters for these generous offers.

This increase in sponsorship comes at a very opportune moment. The worldwide rise in cotton prices has severely affected the cost of producing the overalls and this is, unfortunately, reflected in the price increase to be applied from Jan 1 2011. This increase in sponsorship more than offsets the rise and continues to give another valuable service to our members.

Members please note that this offer is subject to one pair of overalls per member every three years. Receipts from AWS should be sent to Sue Whitlock whose address can be found on our website www.marshals.co.uk

Hopefully my girlfriend and I will be sending off for ours very soon. We have the training day at Castle Combe due end of the month then a bit of a breather before we kick into the real action in June. Really can't wait!!

Quaife-Hobbs join the BMMC as a sponsor!

Increased Overalls Sponsorship

Quaife becomes a sponsor of the BMMC

It gives me great pleasure to announce that from today sponsorship of overalls is increased to £40 per member thanks to Quaife.

Quaifes wanted to help marshals and what better way than to assist in the purchase of new overalls for our members, this is particularly welcome in the current economic climate and with increasing costs to our members.

Many of you will be aware of the engineering firm Quaife who specialise in car and motorcycle drive trains and gear boxes and have been market leaders in their field since 1965.

Based in Kent, Quaife have their own research, design, servicing and production centre.

Please take a moment to view their website www.quaife.co.uk to find out more about our latest sponsor.

Enormous thanks go particularly to Sharon Quaife-Hobbs who has lead this project from start to finish.

From all our members a huge thank you for your support!

Agreed! That is good news. Now sounds the right time to invest in a new pair.

Do you think they do a set that doesn't shrink when kept in a wardrobe over winter?

Cheers Quaife - 3 quid to top it up to 40 does make a nice round figure. Add to that the specially negotiated BMMC members' price that AWS discount it to us for and it's pretty fantastic in the current financial climate.

Until I read the article in the April "The Marshal" I hadn't realised that the SUNBAC contribution was due to them sadly winding up their club (should have read the AGM minutes!!). Good to see them contributing to the MSF as well, just a shame that we can't show our gratitude by supporting their events.

I also notice that the retail price on the AWS website has gone up to about a tenner more than the figures shown in the pdf on the marshals.co.uk site - even more reason to get your order in this year!

Does that basically mean you can get a brand spanking new set of the gpx overalls for £15. If so that is brilliant value.

Have I got this right: Just have to buy a set and send off a receipt? No advance notice, no telling different people? I need a new pair, as I've just found quite a large hole torn in mine that I guess happened at the weekend.

Speak to AWS to see whether they have a record of your purchase and whether they are prepared to issue a duplicate receipt. Unfortunately if you are unable to furnish a receipt we can't send the cheque.
