Anyone in here following this championship or even know if it's still alive?

I used to watch it on Sky and it was cool - Maserati Ghibli, Viper and a host of tweaked saloons going like the clappers.

What's going on in the series now - are the above cars still racing?

Ah, yes

Basically they have grown so large that they have 2 series these days.

The Nations Cup, for things like Vipers, Ferraris, Porches, a Lamborghini Diablo, Supras, Z3 V8 Roadsters, Honda NSXs, Mustangs, the Maserati, Corvette, Nissan GT-Rs plus other exotics.

The GTP Production Championship is for basically everything else.

yep crash is right Graham..the series has really taken off here in Australia ..with more cars and good TV and it is a reasonably inexpensive class to run ..besides the price of the car..Nations cup is the new class that has been started this year and so far it seems to be working quite well..allthough the Vipers are way of the pace...the normal GTP class is still quite exciting and still has a big field of cars and seems to complement the performance class quite well.

Well i just got home from the track today. The Nations cup was a bit of bore, there was only something like 12 cars left for the second race.
The GTP Prod Cars put on some really good racing the whole way down the field, and a few of my mates did well, especially Wyane Wakefield in an RX7 with a couple of podium placings.
Having a look at some of the nations cup cars, they would be better suited to Le Mans with some of the high tech computer stuff they carry...even some of the top prod cars have all of the data logging stuff....

Anyways, Geoff Morgan has seemed to have gotten on top of his Viper to a degree, and i think he wound up with a couple of top 5s.

Does anyone in here think that the British GTs should have the same kind of cars as the GTProds in a lower class to GTO?

Sure thing. Queensland Raceway is the worst photographic track in the universe, so you can only do the best with what you've got. I'll stick some more pics on the net over the weekend...
