Your best photo (taken yourself) - SPORTS CARS / GT

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING:

SPORTS CAR / GT PHOTOS
We would ask that you post a maximum of only 2 photos per race meeting or event. The title is afterall "Your best photo". Therefore when posting, take time to consider if the photo you want to show really is your best - if you cannot decide, add a second one but please no more, unless from a different event. This should also help to keep up the quality of the shots.

Keeping to two shots for this event will be pretty hard!

This is one of David Piper's 917s on the run down to Ascari in the Classic Endurance Race supporting the Monza 1000km:

Can i just add that no digital trickery is involved!

Some very sweet shots here Gav's 917 and Hugewally's Lola in particular. But what the **** is that Schkee?

The Schkee was a Can-Am car I believe.

The magnificent Mercedes 'streamliner' at the Goodwood Festival of speed in 2003.
Fantastic attention to detail in it's restoration. I like the reflections of the overhead canopy, people etc.
A lot going on in a fairly simple shot.

Schkee DB1 5.0L Chevy (converted '76 Lola T332C F5000 car). Raced in the Can-Am series in 1977 by Tom Klausler and in 1979 by Tom Spalding. Currently owned by Johan Woerheide here in the US.

Thats a stunner of the 917. Do you have a bigger res version on your own site somewhere? I'd love to convert it to a wallpaper if that OK with you?

First off, many thanks for the positive feedback on the 917 shot.

I tried to get the same effect for a shot of McNish during the race, but consistently b*ggered it up each lap! Lovely when it works though.

I'm in the process of sorting out a website (probably a Pbase.com one as a provisional effort before a full site) and sifting through the Monza shots, so i'll sort out a background sized one (maybe about 800 pixels wide?) and send to anyone who's interested.

Heartfelt thanks again.

Now back to the business at hand - more photos!
