This press release appears to confirm OC in the 2nd AON car, as well as LPG power.

Spot the error in that press release:
Quote:
Each driver will run an LPG-powered Ford Focus ST – the first ever LPG cars in the 30 race BTCC.
I'm sure John George would have something to say about that. I wonder how LPG technology has moved on in the past 6 years since John had the Civic and the 406 Coupe? If I remember right, the gas tank was from a forklift truck, as that was the strongest type of tank they could find to withstand the inevitable bumping and boring of the BTCC pack.

Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Good to see TOC finally confirmed, although it was looking like an inevitability anyway

That's not the only error. See if you can spot the other.

So I was right in thinking their LPG testing was on the basis of a commercial tie up - with Calor.

Should still be the same exhaust note.

That's another one, I never picked up on. It wasn't that - more that Chilton became the youngest driver on a podium in 2004.

Yep, I have seen the videos on youtube, assuming that is indeed the engine and exhaust system for this year, then they do still sound awesome.

The thing is, I remember a while back in 1998 when the old Vectra V6 series ran with the BTCC, one of the cars (Colin Blair maybe?) I am sure ran an LPG car and it sounded really quiet and had a very different exhaust note, like a quieter version of the old Volvo 5 - cylinder exhaust note.

Now on possibly the most unreliable btcc site on the web: http://www.btcccrazy.co.uk/2010/03/1...irm-lpg-power/

Looks like they have completely buthchered a press release though

And now Airwaves are back with Motorbase, even though they were pulling out

Great to see Sheds back with TD, and I really like that Civic in proper Honda colours

While tight-lipped about his driver line-up, Bartrum added: “Our original plan was to run a BTCC newcomer alongside an experienced driver, in the same way that we brought Steven Kane and Jonathan Adam to touring cars over the past couple of years. I’m not sure it will quite work out like that now… as things stand today, we might even go one better.”
...
So this season an experienced driver...might even to one better....Turkington?

Dave Bartrum must be a pretty persuasive man, to make Airwaves change their mind!

Exactly what I was thinking....

Plenty of good news today - anyone would think there was a media day imminent Looking forward to Brands on Tuesday.

I would guess Mat Jackson. Mat Jackson and Turk in the same team, now that would be something!

Can't wait for Tuesday!

One better could mean one experienced driver partnered by another experienced drive

I wonder if Collard would have been so keen to jump ship if he'd known about this.

I also see teams have been allowed another weeks testing. The ban was due to commence after media day, but now they have until 31st March. Sensible move on TOCA's part.

Maybe it's only come off as Collard not being there allowed them to use the driver that is "one better"? Maybe the Airwaves deal is on the back of having a better driver than Collard in the car (especially if it's Turkington - much easier to get a sponsor on board if you've got the current champion in the car I'd have thought).

Hmm, go one better says Dave Bartrum? Does that mean having two experienced front line drivers instead of one and one rookie, or going one car better, three instead of two? I'd guess the former but it doesn't seem clear to me.
