CTCRC Goodwood Sprint 15th March

I have posted this in the sprint section but as it is at Goodwood and will have an historic racing theme I thought it was worthy a post here as well.

On the 15th May the CTCRC are hosting a sprint event at Goodwood. Please go to the club's site front page here http://www.classictouringcars.com/index.asp for full details and how to enter.

It looks a a great chance to get your car out on this iconic historic circuit and will also be a chance to entertain your sponsors.

With less than 2 weeks to go, are many of you coming out to play ? We're all looking forward to marshaling and hope the weather stays pleasant enough for all to have a good time.

looks like my test at Silverstones been cancelled so I might pop by, although I'm also thinking of a trip to Beulieau to see if I can accidentally acquire some ferrous tat, I spotted a little space in the corner of a lock up the other day I could fill

I don't know Barman I have had no official feed back yet. I won't be taking a car myself now as two race meetings on the trot is too much for me and never realised it followed Silverstone.

Sorry you won't be there Al - was looking forward to seeing you have a (fingers crossed) trouble free day.

So, is there anyone willing to admit they'll be there - especially as the organiser has ordered sun !

Been considering spectating at this event, but can't find details on it such as start time etc, and clues?

Goodwood is generally 9am start, 12-1pm lunch and 4pm finish. No information given at all on the CTCRC website, which is a little disappointing especially as it says the event will allow the opportunity to promote the club and sport to a wider audience.

Should be there spectating as well

Oh and looking at the regs it will be 2 practice runs in the morning followed by 2 timed runs in the afternoon.

Wasn't windy at St Marys for a change. We had an enjoyable days marshaling with fortunately only a trio of spins to interupt us.

Many thanks for the doughnuts and copies of the club magazine, and we look forward to seeing you at Thruxton next month.

We were delighted to see an old friend, Terry Nichols, out in an XJS. Not quite as memorable as his old Gartac Capri, but he intends to be out at Thruxton too.

Hopefully you'll have a better day there than you did last time out Al - stuck in gear if I recall ?

Lovely to see the SD1 and Capri there, although the Lotus Sunbeam topped our list of take-homes.

Yeah Joss's Sunbeam is the nuts. Oh thats great Terry will be out in the XJS as well I am looking forward to this one. Unfortunately last years stuck in gear problem was only the prelim to me detonating the engine after 11 laps when I finally got it back into gear, all due to a dodgy head repair IMHO but hopefully will all be up and running properly by then, needs to be with the heavy metal coming out as hopefully Dave Howard will have his XJ12 screwed back together by then and Dave Scriven will be out with his lovely Toyota Supra in the same class, bring it on!
