You cheeky young so and so Baz. I suppose if you're leaving us, someone else has to steal food from every marshal post!

Merry Christmas all.

It's now looking as though I will be unfortunately around for longer than I thought looking at the present house selling situation!

Yes, december isn't the best time for selling houses. You may be better in the new year.

Lucky us then, Baz.

But good luck with your plans, hope they will work out. Best wishes and maybe sometimes next season we will meet again, if you are not already gone by that time.

I like the method for the bodywork. Most subtle use of simple shapes to achieve the required "monstrousness". Very "DTM". I bet the final bodywork is very very sexy indeed.

A very similar approach to what I'll be doing with the Lacetti when I get time - using a LS7 for motive power - cheap(ish) out of the crate power, and very compact to boot. If I ran one of those in Harry, it could have a std bonnet line.

I think it's a MkIII. 2001-2006 or something.

Is that a MkIII, I thought it was a MkIV, with the new one a MkV. And 2003/4-6 being the year range with the way that Ford update them these days. (Original, roundy shape, new shape, facelift, and now new new shape)

Rob.

Off topic comment alert
I have to type this or my brain will explode!

I could probably look into it, but the way I figure it:
MkI: original -> 1997.
MkII: 1997 -> 2001 (I think) - facelift (angry look) shape. BTCC cars shape.
MkIII: 2001ish -> 2006/7 - more 'square' design, featuring those cooking hob rear lights.
MkIV: current.

I may be wrong, but the MkIII may have had a couple of revisions, but it's been basically the same style/shape since 2001 until recently. Perhaps there was MkIIIa and MkIIIb

Thanks for reading, you've been a wonderful audience. Don't forget to try the veal and tip your waitress. We now return you to the topic

Right, now Christmas is out of the way, is there a designated DMN test day? And whereabouts is it? I'll need to get my eye back in.

Alan, I was just too lazy to put all the dates down by hand. Hence the link and I did it a bit as well to advertise the TT's.

...I thought it was a Mk2 Jag like often seen in old cops and robber movies! ...but it does look pretty cool actually!! Thanks Chez and Eddy, It's been the most frustrating time trying to sell this damn house but your right, maybe in the new year my prayers will be answered but I will be around now for a while yet so will hopefully get in a good few rounds (of this championship and not at the pub as not on Jon's sort of money!) before things happen

We haven't ever organised and official test tbh. It is a case of people organising their own testing time usually.

Didn't remember one previously. But if someone is going to head to Brands testing then let me know and I'll come along. Will need some warning tho to sort out insurances.

I hope to be out in a few of the races next season in my Sunbeam Lotus.
I have committed to do all the Classic Modified Saloon Saloon and LMA rounds as well as some Heritage and Northern/Southern sports/saloons races. But as we are at the same meetings as the DMN's on a few occasions I hope to get an extra race with you boys. I want to see how much closer we are to Rod and the other front runners next season with the development work that the Seaman Brothers are working on at the moment-more power, new gearbox and aeropack.

Be good to see you Joss. Last I saw of you was the trail of oil across the grass at Graham Hill Bend in the middle of last year. In fact I think you can still make it out!

And welcome to Tenths! You'll love it

I sold my old 'Swan light' Astra to Graham Millward in 1991 when I moved to Spain. Yes Phil and Mike Seaman are still working hard on the Sunbeam..hope to get Phil out to partner me in some of the Heritage Races, as well as Jon Finnemore.
