Disappointed that there’s no Mat Jackson or Bobby Thompson. Also miss Rob Collard, but didn’t expect to see him back.
Still can’t get my head round why some people think the Hyundai is a less competitive car than the Toyota..... |

Possibly because a Toyota finished 4th last season whilst the best Hyundai was 13th. Nothing conclusive due to the different calibre of drivers, but it's certainly not an unreasonable position to take that the Toyota is superior.

Of course, that was the Hyundai's first year, so hopefully we should be expecting more this time around, and Tom should help develop the car. |

I like Dan Lloyd, lets hope he has the budget to last the season!

The Hyundai has never had a front-running driver in it. It looked a decent enough car last season. I doubt any of their drivers would have faired that well in the Toyota. Excelr8 aren’t messing about. I would back them over Speedworks any day of the week.

Excelr8 still have a lot to prove. Having Tingram in their car will help them move forward though

100% agree. Both drivers finished in line with their previous results. I suspect Tingram will be just as quick as he was in the Toyota.

He will. It's step up in terms of team and car in my opinion.
The only thing that lets Ingram down at times is still his racecraft. He's had the pace side of it nailed for a few years now and his racecraft has improved dramatically in that time, but there's still bits to iron out. If it wasn't for that, he'd have had a title by now. He can defend a lead fine or a place when there's only one other car in the battle, but he can get spat out too easily when there's a bit of a train fighting for position. |

If he's as quick in the Hyundai as he was in the Toyota, doesn't that just show up Proctor and Smiley? Ingram is probably one of the top 5 drivers on the grid, but if he can finish in the top 5 or top 10 more regularly than Proctor and Smiley could in the same car, it probably tells us more about their pace than it does about Ingram's!

I don't think that is necessarily true, as it's possible that after a year, the team have made improvements to the car over the winter. But it's also equally possible that Ingram is a superior developer of cars, and that he has established better ways of setting up the car. I'm afraid it's far too easy to point the finger at someone without knowing all the facts. However, it may allow the team to make their own minds up about the other drivers, based on only them having the full knowledge of all the data. |

Ingram is a LOT quicker than Smiley and Proctor. Everybody knows that. A front running driver against two midfield drivers is always going to show a good difference.
Additionally, yes as above, the Hyundai was very much underdeveloped last season. It should be on the money this season, or much closer to being so anyway. Partially because of the data obtained, partially because it was the first season Exceler8 have ever ran a brand new BTCC car and partially because Ingram and his crew will have a major input into development. |

Ingram said that they are building a brand new car for him. I wonder if there are any changes that they've picked up from the "old" one going into it? Not that it matters pace wise as he was really on it in the 2020 one anyway.

Sounds promising. Of course everyone else will be improving too but it's good to hear. |

That's a very ballsy move. Everything to lose and nothing to gain reputation wise. Almost anything short of winning every single race this season will be a disappointing performance.

I wouldn't go that far, he finished 3rd in his last Porsche campaign, and it didn't seem to do his rep any harm.

excellent signing by redline, glad to see dan's back in something on the toca event this season. like pretty much anybody with two braincells to rub together, i can't wait for the king/cammish (and parker/redline) battle, it's going to be superb!

Is King definitely confirmed for Porsches then? Cammish is a bit too talented to be in Carrera Cup rather than GT3 but I suppose if's quite late in the day!

Which is more harmful to reputation - finishing 3rd/4th in Porsche Carrera Cup GB or finishing 13th and 26th in WTCR?
