1997, Jacques stuns the world by setting pole on his very first GP and just missed the win with mechanical troubles.

I would say 1996 because I was there (my first GP) but emotionally it was 2002 with mark Webber announcing his arrival on the F1 scene.

2002 - with webber's 5th for Minardi and because of the F1 digital coverage I want it back!
The 1999 race was great too, with Irvine winning his first GP... |

1997 - The first time when a Mercedes-engined car won after the last presence of the marque in F1. (Also a clash in the start )

1996 - Great battle between the team-mates Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve.
2002 - Race was overall boring, but a big first corner shunt and Mark Webber's 5th place with Minardi made it a race to remember. |

I did realise, I thought it funny because less than 2 hours after your post the F1 Gods decided to produce a race that matched any of those.
I voted 1998 BTW. Last edited by Adam43; 10 Mar 2003 at 21:58. |

1996 - Jacques bursts on to the scene
1998 - Not really a race, but I love McLaren 2003 - Best race since the '00 German GP |

I think the 1956 race at Albert Park was the best, Moss winning over his Maserati team mate Behra with the Ferraris a long way behind.
F1 has been around a long time, a lot longer than most people remember! |

i assume that this thread was posted before the recent race, i would rank this years up with best i've ever seen, although im still young and havent seen a great many, also my oppinion will be favoured by the fact the TGF didn't win, pity he still finished though.

Mark Webber's two points of course, though Luca going close in 1999 is a close second.
