Dino IV should be qualifying in the top 5 on the gridDino IV should be qualifying in the top 5 on the grid
As the season has shown so far the front of the grid is pretty lonesome as two teams are operating in 'no man's land'. Firstly the Ferrari squad has an easy 1 second advantage over Williams. Secondly Williams has an easy 0,5 second advantage over the rest of the wannabees. They must be boring themsleves to death as much as they do the audience ...

Behind that though it's an intertesting battle between McLaren, Renault and Sauber with variable results depending on track, circumstances, reliability and the form of the day. Behind those three are the four Honda runners sometimes in a fight with Arrows and Jaguar, sometimes with themselves. So behind the first four in their league of their own things get more exciting to follow, so maybe it's an idea to enlarge this competition from Top 6 lists to Top 10 ones.

At Monaco (nor the rest of the season) I don't expect any surprises about Ferrari as their car is the strongest in almost any area. With a little luck though the beforementioned gap between Williams and the teams behind might pose some surprises. The one contender I think has a change to blast himself between the Ferrari and Willams teams is ... Jarno Trulli in the Renault. Not only because the Renault might suit the track characteristics very well, but also because Trulli has some sort of magic resource when he really gets going on a challenging track like Monaco. When he gets in that mood allright, he may be the one to surprise a big surprise on Saturday.

A great result and achievement but one which in advance immediately destroys any hope for something close to a race on Sunday. Trulli will not be able to give the Ferrari's a run for their money and with the Renault in race-trim he'll only be holding up the Williams behind him. When as usual his fuel supply, engine or gearbox has blown halfway the race the gap from Williams to Ferrari will be too large to bridge and the race will settle itself for the usual parade.

So pole for TGF, second Rubinho, third Trulli, fourth Montoya, fifth Ralf, sixth Kimi (any fans already? This boy is really amazingly quick! It seems to remain a bit out of the spotlight as McLaren has degraded to a third-best team, but Kimi's performance is abolutely awesome. DC can sweet-talk all he wants, but he's being utterly destroyed time after time and he can't do a lot about it. Although heavily criticised by me too last year, McLaren choosing for Kimi was indeed justified. The kid is really amazing).

Race TGF, Rubinho, Montoya, Ralf, Kimi, DC. (But Rubinho, Trulli, Montoya, Kimi, Massa and Webber would make anyone's day a lot better probably. ) Fingers crossed.

Guy, just a reminder that you may predict the polesitter as well, in order to have the opportunity of scoring one extra point.
Thanks R, I was joking about Montoya in the sea and don't mean to mock the thread...I do think it will be a suprise race in a big way and I think Webber will score for Minardi
Pole will be Shuey or Montoya, Barichello will not be allowed to take pole in my view but lock out the front row.
I really hope neither Ferrari wins, specially TGF and I am a Ferrari fan...or was. My big tip is Button for the win.

Regards

Guy
