FIA-ACO conference : aside from the entry lists

So, I noticed several elements reported during the conference of this 13th of february :

a new logo which reminds "Innovation, popularity, novelty" (P. Fillon) ;

Main goal of the new regulations : minus 30% of consumption, "a little revolution" ;

A "second screen" will be created in order to follow races of WEC, it's a app which will be available on mobiles. They didn't give many details.

A French TV presenter (Fred) of a scientific magazine intoduced a TV series about the new technologies displayed at LM this year. They will visit Shell, Michelin and some other actors. Each video will relate a technical item : engines, hybrid systems, cars conception, consumption control, new driving... The last video will be about the applications of these technologies on road cars. All these 12 videos will be released with the rythm of one every 10 days till the week-end of the race. They will be available for upload on ACO site, YouTube and Dailymotion ; (in french only, maybe, they didn't say).

About the calendar, G. Neveu : same places, stability ; apart the Sao paulo race will be at the end of the year because of the World Cup (soccer).

About the race control : the slow zone procedure will be used. A new telemetry/GPS system will be used for a better knowledge of live positions : for instance, it will inform a GT pilot that a LMP1 is coming behind (signal on dashboard).

I particularly noticed these sentences :
  • D Richards : "people cheer us, we are motivated as much as possible."
  • Dr Ullrich : "who claims he is ready hasn't finished his job", "the new regulations are a huge, big step."
  • Romain Dumas : "200 people on the project" ; "we hope to be ready on time" and a leader of Porsche (I didn't see his name) : "We are coming to learn", "we come to improve race after race"
  • P. Vasselon : the two crews are : well, the three smaller pilots, and the three tall in the other.
  • J. Nicolet : "Ligier is coming back with OAK racing"
  • N Minassian : "we help the Russian pilots in endurance".

And the most important thing, Pierre Fillon said that the selection is so difficult and heartbreaking that the ACO have decided to built one or several additional garages for 2017 (he said stands so it will bealong the pitlane).

BTW, Dr Ullrich was wearing a red pull-over, a sign of support for Schumi, maybe.
