RLR BMW M3 GT-2

Yes it was homologated as a GT-2 (period). here
So it seems the gate has been opened to see RLR and their BMW M3 GT-2 at Le Mans! Lets hope it is soon!

Satorian has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I hope it's really and truly a GT2 and not just inaccuracy of the press statement. I'm somewhat wary to consider the case closed until the final entry/classification list is released.

Were do read it has gotten ACO or FIA GT homologation?

BTW Here's the central BMW GT2 topic:

Maybe the mods can merge.

Had I wanted the post homologation RLR BMW M3 GT-2 thread to be attached to the pre-homologated BMW, 300 post count thread, I would have posted the release in it!

Funny to see that the word EfficientDynamics is 6(!) times in the press release

IMO it's more practical to have 1 central topic. And were did you read it's ACO homologated?

That may be so, but I agree with FIRE that it would make more sense to keep it in the main thread. Would fit in with the discussion that has been going on there and would keep the forum tidy. No offense.

Does anybody know some people at the WDWT who could ask somebody in charge at the BMW pit? Because general consensus seemed to be that with BMW's reaffirmed WTCC program the possible GT2 mods would be scrapped as GT2S would fit their profile well enough. If it's now truly a pure GT2, I'd love to know what brought the change of heart.

Because deep down I'm wishing that we fanboys get acknowledged for once with a "Well, we've seen the blogs, we've read the forums, we felt the waves the M3 GT2 made in the motorsports fan community, so we decided to go with it." Because THAT would be absolutely brilliant, as the M3 indeed made a much greater splash in the fan sphere than any of their WTCC cars of recent years.

so does it still have a transaxle?

on the other side, they have to welcome the highly changed Skyline soon, so accepting a car a little outside the regs, as long as it's from a big manufacturer, is ok.

The GT2S subclass apparently no longer exists.

@ JayBMS: VW Beetle = Audi R8? If there will be a GT2 version I don't think it's before 2010 or 2011.

Probably not. At this point the plan is only for Auberlen/Hand and Müller/Milner to be in the cars including the longer/endurance races.

So could I write a cheque and buy a couple of M3 GTR's for delivery later in the season?

If not I may wait for the Jag.
