No customer program at this point, no cars in Europe in any series. Strictly ALMS for the time being just as the Porsche RS Spyder was.

The door must now be open for LMS and LM24 in 2010 for an M3, so it looks good for next year. I guess it would be to much to expect anything happening this year [invitation aside]

if RLR win ALMS GT2 or Petit Le Mans so an automatic invitation for Le Mans 2010, he will get there ? last year there was a clash between Le Mans and WTCC so....

I do wonder whether BMW already applied for LM this year. They like 24h races, as evidenced by their participation in Spa, Nordschleife and to some extent Dubai. And they've been at LM before. Sadly the application list for LM 2009 wasn't published. |

The GT2 will probably entered in the 24 hours of the Nurburgring.

And that's that. No N24 this year with the M3 GT2 according to Theissen. |

Which I consider quite disappointing. I love BMW, we have two in our driveway and have owned several in the past 25 years, and I favour them in pretty much everything they do, but running with special dispensations should not be allowed.
I would have expected more from them. A rather underwhelming showing. |

Correction to the above....I'm told that the rule "dispensations" are NOT IMSA, but in fact are ACO, so that would make WMU car guy's observation correct.
Keep in mind that Porsche pre-Le Mans got the "with AC" weight break, even though WO AC, part of that same discussion this morning. (Smaller item perhaps, but same principle.) Last edited by TWK; 17 Feb 2009 at 17:08. |

Sounds like they made modifications to fall into the GT2 category:
