A Few More Changes!
When I created 10 Tenths Motorsport four years ago, I did so with the aim of becoming the premier website for motorsport fans; a place where I would bring together all the relevant information that could be found elsewhere on the net. At the time there was only a handful of motorsport websites of any quality, and many of those were dominated by Formula One. I set out with the intention of doing something which had not been done before, to offer all areas of the sport, from club racing at a cold and windswept Anglesey right up to Formula One, a voice.
Over the past few years things have changed for the better, and there are now literally hundreds of websites that specialise in coverage of motorsport at all levels - including the so-called 'lower formulae' which had, until we started our coverage, been ignored. As a motorsport fan myself I am delighted to see this, but it left this website at a crossroads; do we continue with our original aim to provide a central location to find information on all areas of the sport, or do we change and specialise on one particular area ? After much soul searching we chose the latter option of specialisation, not on the areas of the sport we cover, but the way in which we cover it. Things have moved on over the years and it was time for us to move on too so, with immediate effect, 10 Tenths Motorsport will focus all it's efforts on it's popular discussion forum and weekly newsletter. These areas accounted for 50% of our traffic over the past 12 months, so this decision will allow us to divert all of our energies into the most popular sections of our website - something which can only be good for you - the motorsport fan. If you haven't used a discussion forum in the past, you don't know what you're missing out on! Those who have will know what I mean; many of them will return time and again to chat with the friends they have made and to hear what their views are on a subject which interests them. It's free to register so why not give it a try ? I would like to take a moment to publicly thank Declan from F1 Rogues who has spent a large amount of time working with me to create the new style for 10 Tenths. He has a superb website which you should visit - take a look at www.f1rogues.com Please post any feedback or bug reports here. |

Looks pretty snazzy Craig and at first look here (at work), it's a fresh change. Plus the little red props are cute! Will have to look around more to see how the changes affect the day-in day-out stuff.
Nice change all in all. I'm sure I can say from all of us, thanks for time you've put into this. David from Montreal |

Unfortunately it's a bit slow at the moment but apart from that it's brilliant.

The only problem I'm having is that I have to log in every time I enter the site now (three times tonight), never used to have to do this before.
I also noticed that I was listed as a "Currently active user", even though I was not logged in! Spooky!! |

And as I speak, I see that the Indy forum is being split in two, one section for the Champ Cars, and one section for IRL. I applaud this decision. Should be interesting.

It's certainly different, it's sad to see the old 10-Tenths go, but I'm sure this is much better.
I've only had the problemf of accesing half the site! I keep getting a message saying the servers are too busy. I only got in when I clicked a link from a email notification. |

From what I can tell, the "server is too busy" message, is related to cookies. For example, Maisie got that message from her PC, but got in perfectly when she tried a different browser on another machine. The server definately isn't too busy right now.
Odd. |

Very, very nice! I really like the new look. Very smooth and streamlined (like the Bentley in the new banner ). I also like some of the new things in vBulletin V2.2.1 - especially the "Mark this forum read" feature. It also seems to be running much quicker now (though that may be due to a low number of users at present).
Thanks Craig - keep up the great work! |

I found the website "database" extremely useful. Not only did I find a lot of information out, but I know a lot of people found my site through 10 Tenths. I used this service to find out loads of information on all sorts of aspects of motorsport that I was interested in. I took up motorsport about a year ago now and this service was extremely useful for finding information and people who have helped in my first year. I think it is a shame that others will now not benefit. If 50% of the traffic is for the forum and newsletter then presumably there is another 50% that has now just been deprived. I feel the changes have lessened the site. There are plenty of discussion forums on the web, but not a site that provided all the other interests (If there is will someone please tell me). Anyway, nice blue. |

Very nice, i liked the old style, but i like this one too.
I have noticed that it doesn't say how many posts the user has posted, and also the "birthdays" & "This Day in history" on the main page have gone, but anyway. Congratulations, looks pretty good. |

I got the "Server Busy" message for almost an hour ending just now. It also took a loooong time to bring up this site where I am writing this. The new format is a big success with me. It seems a whole lot sharper and crisper than the old one. Should be great once the new cookies are recorded if that is what caused the delays.

I think it would be a shame to completely drop this part of 10 tenths. As I said before I found it extremely useful for both finding sites that cover a topic and also in helping find information for my racing. Crash you are a legend for offering to take over this service. Top man. Last edited by Adam43; 30 Jan 2002 at 12:07. |

I also found the "links" part of the site very useful. It would be a plus if it could be added to Crash and Burn's site, and not go to waste.
