British F3: 2004 Line-up

OK, everyone. Serious now. I started a similar thread a while back and asked for any news on what teams people will be driving for in British F3 next year, and a load of you very helpfully imparted lots of opinions about where you thought people should be driving. Could we stick to the point here and try to exchange real news (and rumours)?

And limit it to British F3, please - start another thread for the others if you want. This is my thread, and I shall stamp my little foot if I don't get what I want.

I'll start the ball rolling by reminding everyone that Carlin have signed Clivio Piccione and Alvaro Parente in the championship class.

Álvaro told me at Macau that he wanted to go to Carlin Motorsports. He wasn't very happy with Team Ghinzani.
No official confirmation by now at Portugal.

Sweeny racing no loger exist, it was meerly a "name", all the personal and equipment reverted to Rolli Vincini's company "P1 Motorsport".

It's highly unlikely that Tor Graves will be seen in F3 again, indeed he wasn't even sure he was going to race again. He was talking of going sailing and getting a pilots lisence.

Not sure about Power at Fortec. On an other Fortec note, Swedish "TV4" reports that Robert Dahlgren is in the USA searching for a seat and has had some positive talks with Champcar teams.

To clear this up for me, are Manor leaving British F3 and just concentrating on the Euroseries?

Alonso11: Yes, I think so, but virtually everybody has been testing with virtually everybody - in my experience, you can't base sh*t on that!

Suze: that's what I've heard, but they say they're gonna race in any British event that doesn't clash with the Euroseries. Sounds expensive to me!

My infor is that Parente has definitely signed for Carlin; Fairuz Fauzy is an almost dead cert for a T-Sport championship drive; Thompson is definitely signed for Hitech. There's a new team called Reon, I think, who are running in the scholarship class, and I've gorn and lost their driver's name. I'm pretty sure Carroll is going to the Euroseries, for shame.

John Booth definately said that Manor would contest non-clashing UK F3 rounds with Lewis. Expensive - of course, but then whatever else Lewis has, he does have backing and if that's what they want, that's what they will pay for. I think that he has to do some UK F3 just to show that he can compete with the likes of Nelsinho as he will already be competing with Nico in Europe.
