And of course there was a fifth Levorg that just sat in the corner in case they needed a spare shell (and which has never been made into a race car). |

The assumption being, if they don't have the money to pay debts, they won't be able to continue with the leases. |

The cars are physically in the shop but they are not BMRs AFAIK unless things have changed. Cars are owned by Subaru and a lease company.
Subaru 3 year deal has run it's course. They may choose to extend? The leased cars are possibly an option but that would require cash, which isn't growing in an Orchard at the farm. Maybe it will be a case of Scott needs Plato and vice versa again for next year, but would Plato put himself through another year of plodding around? |

It’ll be a disappointment for many on this thread if Plato ended up in a Subaru again.
Also, as Subaru own the cars, surely it must be in their interest to have them running and in theory generating an income? |

This year was the last of the 3 year Subaru deal with BMR and the cars werent owned by BMR themselves just run by them.
Surely BMR running Subarus in 2019 is dependent upon want the owners of the cars want. |

This lease company is going to be a bit peeved when the 2 diesel Levorgs, on a deal to do just 15k miles are returned as battered race cars I wonder how much they will get charged for all the stone chips and missing interior?

Are the TOCA engines leased on a season basis and the insignias would have had old suspension

I think you're right on both counts Billy. Certainly the Insignias were fitted with GPRM suspension when they last contested a BTCC round, and I'm pretty sure the engines are a season long lease. I'm not aware of anyone buying a TOCA engine anyways.

Heard JP has definitely left BMR along with other staff. Think he has his sights on PMR, he was sniffing about their last year.

Unless PMR run a third car, that’ll be a shame. Cook and Proctor are both deserving of a drive there, the car is quick and the team is good. Let’s hope it’s an addition rather than a replacement if it happens.

Well he’ll need to show he still has it, if he doesn’t want to be a waste of a good seat

'The development of our Commercial Programme has long been something of a focus of mine, proving that the BTCC works as an income generating platform, allowing us to focus on recruiting talented drivers rather than those with the most money' Drivers who finished 6th and 12th in 2018, and who both won the JST with BMR. Or a driver who finished 27th in the previous year's title-winning car and looks like being on the decline at the twilight of their career? If you opt for the latter, then clearly money talks. |

This is the same PMR who recruited Emmerdale TV star and housewives favorite Kelvin Fletcher (ahead of race winner Dave Newsham) on talent over marketability of course.... Plato will get them more column inches, gossip and TV time over 1 race than Senna Proctor over a season Last edited by btccbloke; 18 Nov 2018 at 17:59. |

So has JP taken an entry and may be RML hardware (the lease company won’t know if the cars have old spec stuff in them!) and some staff as part of a settlement?...

Don’t forget that they do have a 3rd Astra in build and purchased the TBL from BMR mid season. Whilst they handed back one of the loan TBL’s it could easily be handed back to them if JP doesn’t carry one as part of his deal.

What's this about media day no longer happening?

No official announcement (though nobody shouts about negatives), but yes, it seemingly isn't a thing anymore. Maybe it's perceived as a non-event, but it certainly gave teams a testing opportunity and fans something to look forward too.

the last few years have been a bit of an anti climax for fans, with all the drivers announced long before the day, its just livery being unveiled which may change before round 1 anyway.

It's being replaced with a proper media-only event that won't have fans.

Well we are no closer to finding out who goes where at the moment. So we might as well wait till media day
