simon c should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1994

Following Roger De Courcy thread for 84 - 10 years ago, 1994. How will anybody ever surpass the popularity of the Dauer Porsche win...

Managed finally to acquire a copy of 94 yearbook - Jeff Krosnoff and the gear linkage - another moment of Le Mans infamy. Irvine taking the place of the lamented Ratzenberger, and with Krosnoff and Martini came so near. That would have been one THE great Le Mans victories imho.

rose tinted specs again!

Wow, that was a great race - my first trip to LM. I stood at the Ford Chicane for the last hour, listening as Radio Le Mans counted down the gap between Irvine and the 2nd Porsche. An absolutely classic racing memory...

Yes indeed.

Personally, as many know, both decisions were crass - Bentley's decision to drop AW and the ACO's decision to allow the Dauer "imposter" car to race in the GT category.......
