Badgers Christmas question .

http://www.endurance-info.com/versio...al_Jaguar3.JPG

Right ..... this is an XJR-9 ..... historic .

What is the differance between an XJR-9 from the era , and the above pic .

No prizes , but I will tell Rudolph not to crap on your doorstep . I promise

Im just interested in seeing how many of you (especially oldies) know what the differance is .

Happy Christmas to you all , and your tribe ..... and wish you all a great 2011 .....

With respect to motorsports ..... its looking like a kracker !!!

Anyway ..... have a good'un .

Gerard

Is it that the yellow bits on the livery shouldn't be there, or should they be thinner?

EDIT: Scrap that. Shouldn't the wheels be black?

No ..... that was more the 86 car .

To be honest ..... its obvious ...... and Im not trying to sound pios . Its right in your face .

Or , maybe its obvious to me , cuz I had a preferance to the thing in question .

The yellow is correct for the year ..... the colored Jaguar on the window changed from car to car ..... like an ID strip , looked good and worked too .

Your still wrong

The rear wing? looks more like an XJR12 rear wing than an XJR9 one as it looks quite compared to the usual XJR9 rear wing. Could it be the purple castrol decal underneath the windscreen?

Interesting ..... that wasnt actually a decal at all . It was in fact a colored velcro strip , which had to be changed with the driver ..... another simple and effective ID device . Good point ..... but ..... WRONG

The gigantic amount of duct tape on the vents at the front? And the possible fact that the two vents on the side of the front end are not period-correct?

Well it isn't LM spec., but that wasn't your question. However this means it is the sprint spec. In which case I don't think it should have the spats.

OT: Some of them didn't. Was that the later 10/11s or some of the IMSA cars?

Probably just the angle of the shot but the windscreen looks to be a bit taller than was run at Le Mans. As others have said, rims and rear wing.

I dont know of any 10 or 11 that didnt use a spat . I think it was only the IMSA 9 that sometimes raced without spats ..... rarely though .
