Vp Commodores

Hi all I'm on the hunt for information on if there are any V8 supercars in the form of the VP commodore left? Or where they all converted to VR/VS Spec.

Secondly does anyone know where the 1994 Glen Seton Eb ended up after Claude Gorgio had it?

Most VPs were converted to VRs, although Peter Champion has converted an ex Gibson Motorsport car back to VP specs. The Brock 93 car that was sold to Ed Lamont also remained as a VP, although it didn't appear after Bathurst 95.

The Giorgi Falcon was sold to Charles Ryman in 98 and destroyed in a testing accident at Lakeside in February 99.

Many of the VP's were updated VN's werent they?

Certainly the first GIO/BFR Commodore started life as a VN Group 'A' SS before becoming a VP V8Supercar

Champion's car GMS#1 is still in VR spec.

Nivola, I think the one of the Pro-Duct cars is still in VP spec and I believe one of the Brock VP's also (can't remember which chassis).

There were 10 VNs built, all were converted to VPs, namely Bob Forbes x 1, Perkins Engineering x 4 (PE011 for Bob Pearson, PE012 & PE014 for Brock, PE015 for Alf Barbagello), HRT x 3, Lansvale Smash Repairs x 1, Terry Finnigan x 1.

The only new VPs at the beginning of 1993 were the 2 Gibson cars, Bob Pearson's Perkins built PE016 and Bob Jones'. Brock, Perkins and Crompton debuted new cars during the ATCC, but it wasn't until Sandown 94 that HRT completed its first 'ground up' VP. From my workings there were 21 VPs built.

The Perkins VP was PE029. It had been built as a VR at the beginning of 96, was converted to a VP after Sandown and raced as such as at Bathurst and in New Zealand before reverting to a VR for the beginning of 97.
