As opposed to the attempt to start a verbal fight here with the usual references to the contracts that Ferrari has with every team in F1 ensuring their domination, I think what Michael is referring to is the fight to stay on top.
The inanity of the interviewers is what makes me a bit crazy here. I mean of the myriad of things that could be asked and they ask dumb things. The question to Kimi noted above is an excellent example. I second the emotion regarding this season not being a repeat of 2002 both on the track and on the boards. I hope we can discuss the relative merits of each team's performance and each driver's performance in a positive fashion. |

I think some of you may be surprised by RB. If he is quicker that Michael, he will be allowed to win. Ferrari is in a constructor's championship first and foremost, not a 'let's get Michael his 7th WDC' race.
Had Rubens brakes not been a problem, and, had Michael made the slightest of errors, first and second place would have been reversed. |

Michael Schumacher is undoubtly the best in the world.
Don't can him for that. Get up the other teams for not taking the fight up to him, do you want him to slow down to give the others a chance. I don't think so. AS for team orders if MS and RB had taken each other off yesterday you would all be on here saying what a pair of idots they were for stuffing up a team 1-2. Leave Schuey alone he can't help being the best. |

Yeah...Michael enjoys a fight, so why do people having a problem with them? Michael didn't reject competitions.. rather it is the competition who failed to put up a fight.
Last year, the WDC challenge was so strong. So many things were against MS's favour but still he got on the job while others complain. Hmm, i don't know why it is so hard for people to understand when MS says he enjoys what he does. If anything, it's those who constantly complain and complain and complain non-stop at every race win for MS that ought to turn to MotoGP or something.. keep the sour taste on the tongue to themselves. Remember, for every disappointment you feel, there is one, if not more, people out there who feels great with another display of quality driving. Surprisingly, i wonder WHY so many people rushed down to the podium post- race at AGP. |

sometimes the "fight" can come from within. at his age, the champ certainly has to put in a little extra than the other younger drivers to be where he is. the "fight" could also involve giving it your best, never giving up even when the whole world lives to see you fail. yep Michael certainly has the biggest fight compared to the other drivers.

I think that MS referred more to a fight with himself (age, and motivations at first) than against others.
Seen like this it makes some sense. |

The quote in Sportinglife goes something like "fighting on the track".
But agreed he shouldn't be denigrated for his success. Even if it is boring!!! |

David Hobbs and Peter Matchett do the feed here for Speed Channel. They both commented on the enthusiasm Michael shows when he is on the podium, especially for a win. I think it was Hobbs who said that after seeing the 1993/94 races again he couldn't get over how much Prost and Senna were so unemotional that at times looked like they were being sent to prison instead of being happy about being on the podium! They were right, too. Some times they looked like they couldn't stand being there!
Like him or not it is great to see someone get fired-up about what they do. |

It WAS a fight!
Just a first round knockout, that's all! |

Anyone who thinks you pick up six world titles (not to mention the Constructors') without an awesome fight hasn't really been paying much attention to the sport. Just because Ferrari and Michael got it all right for this weekend, doesn't mean that an outrageous amount of effort didn't go into getting themselves in that position. Also, just from Schumacher's individual point of view - he drove a perfect race and no-one could get near him... that doesn't happen by accident either.
