Excellent first lap. 3 drivers fighting hard but clean.
For the next 59 laps there were a few easy DRS passes and little less. Yet another new circuit that produces dull F1 races. 3. |

Alonso - excellent moves at the start. Most of the rest of the racing was silly magic carpet racing. I'll give it a 4.

Only got some of the highlights as the satellite signal kept dropping out here in Tenerife, and lost the last four laps altogether, but I really didn't think it was that bad - some very good close racing early on, and some battles lower down the order...

I gave it a 4. I found it quite dreary for some reason. Okay, the start was pretty good - the Alonso, Hamilton and Button battle. But after that, only really the end where Alonso got past Webber and Hamilton started to catch him, was exciting. Other than that, the DRS passes were perhaps too easy.

Gave it a 3. DRS setup meant that any driver wanting to get past another tended to push into the 1 second gap & then use DRS (some more successfully than others).
Produced some tension and had drivers pushing hard against each other but seemed pretty flat most of the time. |

A 1. Vettel won, absolutely predictable race, plus absolutely horrible air pollution (just terrible that people live in that stuff). Horrible race, never want to see it again. I'd give it a 0 if there was such a thing.

Alonso's battle with the Mclaren sandwich is most likely to be in every season highlight video, other than that Im not sure what I'll remember of this. I also kinda enjoyed how Grosjean and Senna made their way thru the midfield. |

Its such a "nothing" race track. Another sterile car park. I mean, it really could be anywhere, you take a close-up of this place, or the Korea track, or Abu Dhabi, and frankly I would be hard pushed to work out which track it was. Its just such a soulless exercise, bereft of any natural geography, trees, grass, hills. At least the fans seem like they have genuine interest, that was good to see I suppose. The track can go and rot, however I guess this is F1's brave new world, and its only ever going to get worse.
At least the finale is at Interlagos, a real race track. Oh yea, one more gripe; when will whoever is designing these tracks learn that if you want overtaking, you don't place two hairpins together separated by a long straight. The car in front is always going to be on the throttle first, which makes passing into the following hairpin pretty impossible. Its like these tracks were designed by a 5 year old. You need to have a "mistake generator" corner before the long straight, so be that a high speed chicane (Eau Rouge) or a corner with a vague apex that you can take multiple lines through and has an acceleration / traction zone out of it. |

First race in a long LONG time I had to turn off. It was over after qualifying. They need to share Newey to every team for 2 races or something, cos this is just an utter borefest. There's no fun in never, ever seeing a battle for the lead. I miss the not-so-perfect Red Bull It's really killing my interest in F1.. Selby |

I gave it a 3. Not a great circuit, no good action besides the first lap, then straight forward DRS BS. Too small a crowd, too much smog and just too boring! I am glad that I only watched the race highlights.
F1 should drop this race already, there is no interest whatsoever and is certainly not a great venue. Perhaps it is best to wait with these things, yet China is a prime example of low attendances and little interest from the locals. It is also a shame to see that the championship race is over, apart from if Vettel has any DNF's of course. |

I'm a nostalgist, and personally don't like modern F1 and how it's organised, but I still watch it because I love the sport. Admittedly I record it and fast-forward rather a lot, but I stick it out to the bitter end. IMO it's not supposed to be an entertainment, whatever Bernie hopes for. Since 1950 there have been umpteen years when the has been little or no racing for first place, when one driver has "run off and hid". That's invariably been because one team/designer/engineer has got it more right than the others - he should be congratulated, not castigated. It's a pity that it's come down to this, when enthusiasts like us bemoan a situation that a few years ago would have been perfectly acceptable. Instant gratification seems to be part of the modern world. To me, the answer is to CUT the number of races, not increase it like some would call for. Fewer races means more anticipation, and less disappointment. I always look forward to the first race - by this point of the season I'm suffering from overload, and therefore more susceptible to a spot of moaning. It just seems to go on and on....... |

It's hard, I agree with you.
We got spoiled so now all this 'racing' seems pretty lame, to me. And i'd consider myself quite a hardcore fan. Selby |
