On the topic of the wierd and wonderful cars cropping up at the tail end of the WSC/Group C era I noticed a reference to the Mussato MXJ 92 Judd in the Monza 500km entry list. Anyone got anything more on this car?

Has it got anything to do with a modified Lancia LC4 ? I remember Mussato playing around with one of those .

Nordic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
There was also the Jaguar XJR-12 'Gee Pee Jaguar' that appeared on the entry lists in 92. I know Dave Coyne tested the car and seem to recall it should have raced in C2. Don't think it ever raced.

Some other cars that never reached there potential, BRM P351, Allard and the Lola which may have gone as fast as it could.
A case of 'what might have been'

No, it had nothing to do with the Lancias Mussato run after the factory left: It used, however, a Schuppan carbon chassis, originally made for the 962.

Probably it was used as a base for the GMS WSC, later known as Durango....

I must have the scans of a piece from italian magazine Rombo about the Mussato, if someone is interested can PM me...

Just before this era, what about the GKW? Entered but never turned up for a few races?

Always had a soft spot for the old C2 era...Ceekar, Lotec, Lyncar, Arundel...

'Yeah , Suntec ran a purple XJR-14 in japan'

They were the works 'Silk Cut' cars that stayed over in Japan for the last JSPC round in 1991.

Suntec up until that point had run the green XJR-11.

I believe Nielson drove the Suntec XJR-11 in the JSPC as he couldn't fit in the works XJR-14!

BTW, anyone know where you can get hold of JSPC, IMSA GTP and early 90's Group C videos. They all used to be shown on Screensport and Eurosport.

Fabi and Brabham drove the 14 at Sugo in the last round and won by miles. The turbo Nissans and Toyotas did not have the 100kg ballast as applied to turbo cars in SWC that year and were extremely quick cars too.

BTW - Duke. Not much sportscar stuff at the moment
