The Aston Martin owners Club is delighted to be able to announce a strong collaboration with new sponsors Aston Workshop of Durham. Aston Workshop is a well established and highly respected restorer of classic Aston Martins with particular skills associated with the Aston Martins of the 1960s. It is most appropriate that Aston Workshop will sponsor the Pre 1966 FIA Historic races at Donington on June 25th and the televised races on the 26th.

Bob Fountain of Aston Workshop commented: “We have big plans for the promotion of Aston Workshop in 2011 and at the forefront is an increased involvement in AMOC events. We have enjoyed a great relationship with the club over the years and we want to build on this with our sponsorship of the ‘Aston Workshop Pre 66 FIA race’ at Donington in June. We hope to become regulars at AMOC events and we’re looking forward to introducing the team and getting to know everyone involved with the club.”

“As a company we find it’s always better to speak to folks in person, as it’s much easier to get a real feel for their requirements, plus there simply isn’t a better way of meeting Aston Martin owners and enthusiasts.”

Angus Dent, Chairman of the AMOC competitions committee said ‘We are so pleased to have such a prestigious sponsor and we really look forward to Aston Workshop being a part of this important and celebrated meeting”

The St. John Horsfall Trophy race takes place on June 25th at Donington and the tradition of this event showcasing pre war racing Aston Martins continues. We are very pleased to announce that the world leader in restoring Pre War Aston Martins; Ecurie Bertelli will be the title sponsor of the 2011 race.

This year the race should see a record number of Ulsters participating to celebrate the Le Mans achievement of winning the Rudge Cup in 1935. Ulsters will not only be racing but a unique gathering of well over half the Ulsters made (29 were made) will be in attendance we anticipate.

Stephen Archer of the AMOC competition committee commented: “We are grateful to Andy Bell and all at Ecurie Bertelli for supporting this seminal race at our premier meeting. Having raced these cars myself for many years it will be wonderful to see so many important pre war Aston Martins gathered on this occasion”
