Team Race Performance and it's Partner MOMO-Megatron rejoiced at another podium finish at the penultimate round for the Asian Le Mans Series in Thailand. Thanks to an impressive performance at the wheel of the Swiss teams Oreca 03 R Judd, Niki Leutwiler and Oliver Webb finished third in the third round of the Asian endurance series.

Started from third place in the grid the drivers had a thrilling fight in the three hours race. “We were battling in the top group of the race right from the start and thanks to a great job of our pit-crew we were even able to partly gain a comfortable lead over the opponents”, says team manager Michel Frey. However, several phases with yellow flags interrupted the race from time to time. “Unfortunately we lost the lead during a safety-car phase and in the end we had to settle behind the two quicker cars”, explained Frey. “One more lap and it probably could have become a second place, what would have been enough for the early title win. Nevertheless, at least we were able to fulfil our minimal goal for the weekend, which was to extend our lead in the team standings of the LMP2 class on our toughest rivals team Eurasia Motorsport. A huge thanks to our drivers, our engineers and as well as our mechanics, who delivered an extraordinary job despite the hot weather conditions in Thailand.”

The Briton Oliver Webb was for the first time at the wheel of the Oreca 03 R Judd of the team Race Performance, proving his great driving skills. “I am satisfied with third place although it would have been a great thing to start into the new year with a victory”, explained the sports car professional. “We had a good pace, but finally it was not good enough. I am glad that we were able to maintain the teams lead in the standings of the championship.” Teammate Niki Leutwiler appeared satisfied as well after the race. ”It was another flawless achievement of the whole team. I am quite proud on my team Race Performance, because we succeeded with our aim to beat our toughest opponents in the championship. Now we are looking forward to the season finale.”

The team Race Performance travels to Malaysia being the leader in the championship with a clear advantage of 21 points. The season final of the fiercely battled Asian Le Mans Series takes place in Sepang, from January 23rd to 24th. “We are really looking forward to the last weekend in Malaysia, hoping to finally snatch the title there”, team manager Michel Frey feels confident.
