Kyle Hornby switches to JHR for Ginetta Junior Title bid

Kyle Hornby is set to return to the 2016 Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship, after confirming a move to the JHR Developments team.

A storming debut in the Ginetta Junior Championship saw Hornby make a real impression on the rookie class in 2015. Pole position at Silverstone and second overall at Croft were defining moments in his illustrious debut, which saw him collect no less than 13 podiums across both the main and rookie classes.

Taking third place in the Rookie Championship, Kyle is aiming to be in contention for the championship title from the word go this season, and hes joined forces with UK driver manager, Graeme Glew to help him towards that goal.

Kyle Hornby, driver: I cant wait to get back out on track, this winter seems to have been one of the longest of my career! I had a great debut season with Ginetta in 2015, and this year I intend to be a major contender for the Championship title. I want to make my mark Ginetta history books!

Graeme Glew, Director, Race Driver Development: "In 2015 we decided placed Kyle into the Ginetta Junior Championship after the chose to leave the world of karting. Having managed and sourced sponsors for our drivers for 20 years we have been extremely satisfied with the organisation, the competitiveness and the exposure of Ginetta. We have two drivers in this years championship and hope to see one of them take the title!"

With more races than ever before, the 2016 Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship sees five additional rounds added to the calendar, with three races scheduled at Donington Park, Croft, Knockhill, Rockingham and Silverstone.

Committed to supporting driver development, the Junior prize package is designed to encouraged progression through the formulae. The winner of the Junior series will be loaned a Ginetta G55 GT4 car to be used in the 2017 Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup.

Broadcast live on ITV4, the opening rounds of the Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship get underway at Brands Hatch on 2/3 April 2016.
