A car parked in a dangerous position at the start of the race if left there will see potentially 32 cars pass it 161 times. A car parked in a dangerous position on the last lap will see potentially 32 cars pass it once. A big difference. |

The time i'm thinking of (maybe not bathurst) was a few laps from the end, but the car was left there, so they'd pass it more than once. Nothing to do with risk management, if its unsafe, its unsafe. Theres no middle ground. |

The fact is V8 drivers do NOT obey flag signals or the safety car and no one has the guts to pull them into line (yes Mr. Schenken - this DEFINATELY includes you). If they were serious they would only have to throw the book once before every got the message that a yellow waved or stationary flag means a SIGNIFICANT reduction inspeed not just a lift and then straight back on it. |

Not sure of the year but he had already done the flying thing through the chase trap and then over the track without touching bitumen. Front end finally broke up the top.

It was amazing the unSafety Car wasn't sent out yesterday for the tyre bundles, maybe it is because they can't waste time because it is the F1 show, not the V8 show?
I couldn't believe there were marshalls on a live track pushing bundles around, these people in race control have no ****ing idea |

Whilst i dont think it was smart of them to leave the car there without a safety car, it wasn't even close to the racing line, it was the opposite side of the track. While were on it, who controls that part of it at the F1? I heard TS when the V8s were out, but who does the GTs? Maybe now they'll get a kick up the backside. |

There was nothing wrong with leave Bowe's car parked where it was, it was well off line and out of the way.
The problem is basically what started this thread in that a driver disobeyed the Yellow Flag/Light signal and had already gone past Bowe's car so should've remembered it was there. |

There is going to be a cams investigation into the incident. All 3 drivers will be back in Melbourne for it over the next few days. |

and hopefully given a good *******ing, that would have to be the worst i have seen in the modern error where flags were being displayed, lucky no one was injured. was JB still in the car at the time?

Yeah jb was still in the car, feeling a bit sore and sorry last night, no doubt feeling it more today.
The entire weekend has been a write off more or less. They are still keeping the round as part of the championship though. It was such a pity the enthusiasm from the crowds, the size of the grids the cars all looked fantastic and we weren't able to put on a good show. As I was saying to Hector he travelled a long way for 9laps of racing all weekend |

JB not the main culprit though - silly spot to leave the car but under double yellows and having been round through there a lap earlier those other dudes were still trying to pass each other (not just drive a little more quickly than some would like). Very ordinary and very lucky that everyone got out of that. |

Nothing has been said - but what was the reason JB stopped where he did? It looked like he had no drive - so what do the armchair racers want him to do? Get out and push the car? (of course the same ones having a go at him for stopping where he did would then have a go for getting out and pushing.)
There would be 2 main reasons he stopped where he did - no engine/drive therefore no forward momentum to move any further or a complete lock up in which case even pushing wouldn't have helped. |

It was a fuel pressure problem on the ascari that causes it to slow and cut out where it did

Maybe it was a good place to stop, maybe it wasn't - he was offline though.

He wasn't near ANY racing line on that section of track.
So what do you suggest - on the section of track that he finally stopped he should have taken his car completely off track and behind the barriers? Which would be a tad hard where he stopped because it was - what? 50 metres? or so of track between two corners and, where he DID pull over, was on the opposite side of the track to any racing line - ideal or contrived. |

ha ha thats funny. he gets crashed into by cars racing on a track, but apparantly thats no where near a racing line
far out the track is what maybe 12 meters wide and the car is three, it doesnt leave alot of room when a car is parked on the track, and not on the edge of the track either. I notice there was grass at that point of the track also |
