This is an interesting problem, but when looked at against the overall picture of this series, it's not like the 'playing field' was anywhere close to even to start with.

It's literally impossible for fans to have any idea how well drivers are performing in the Fujitsu Series the way it is now. Some cars are even dramatically changing spec when a new driver comes in. A very easy way to look like a superstar that is...

It was reported at QR that the Fujitsu cars were given a set of old spec tyres and a set of new spec tyres. Cars were due to be given only the new spec tyre there after. The older spec tyre was reported to be quicker by teams.

My teams tyre guy knew nothing about it. neither did the teams either side of us in the lane.

The different tyre (which appear the same but clearly Identifiable by a difference in the casting once you know what your looking for) was pointed out to our team by the team manager of a rival team who was checking up and down the lane who the "have's & have-not's' were.

Very random how the pointy end of thefield were found to be using the new tyre and the rear of the field wernt.

Article was in enews the week before Winton. It quotes Kev Murphy saying the new spec tyre was 6-tenths slower.

Just managed to watch the TV coverage of Winton , great job by Cameron McConville indeed

and please channel 7 do NOT put James Courtney in the booth again , what a terrible performance off the track , if it wasnt "Cracking" it was "OHHHHHHHHHH" and "AWWWWWWW" and how high can I get my voice...seems like he had a 6 pack of his sponsors product before stepping into the booth with Noonz..

he performed much better in the car that weekend
