Mario Andretti to be Grand Marshall in Edmonton

Despite his son's and grandson's involvement in the IRL Mario Andretti continues to be active in supporting Champ Car by appearing at Champ Car races and accepting peripheral participation roles. He has now agreed to be the Grand Marshall of the Champ Car Grand Prix of Edmonton.

Before that Mario will be at the Grand Prix of Portland where he is participating in a promotion with Chevron. Fans who visit Chevron stations in the Portland area can enter a drawing for a pace car ride and dinner with Mario. And Mario will also be signing autographs for fans at the Grand Prix of Portland.

Mario's continued support is good for Champ Car. He is certainly the best known name in open wheel racing in the U.S. over the past 40 years, and he still attracts the attention of race fans wherever he goes.
