Silverstone Developments - Comments by November 26th
I've just had an email from the MSA drawing attention to a request from Silverstone Circuits for support in a public planning initiative which they see as crucial to the retention of the Grand Prix.

sadly once again they are making the circuits update. Soon every circuit on the calender will be adding new chicanes in, to try and improve racing, when really the problem is the cars. The new update seems to be more of a facilities thing, sure Silverstone doesn't have the best but it shows F1 is just about money and they'll go were ever gives them the most amount of money! It can't be called a sport, its a business that somehow is called the pinnacle of open wheel motorsport.

The proposals posted in the F1 section actually relate to the facility rather than the track, though granted there is an option to move the pits which would involve a slight change to the track layout

Has no-one noticed that the track has changed? Look at the abbey complex on the plan.

I got bored and stopped looking at it. What I want to know is if they build on all the surrounding fields where the hell are they going to park all the cars of the paying punters for GP weekend?

As a resident of Silverstone Village I object to the general public swaying an issue which involves the building of up to 400 addittional houses within the village. From what I have heard around the village most residents are against the propasls for this reason.
Generally most residents of Silverstone would like to see the Grand Prix retained at the circuit but not at the expense of the village. |

"The plan, from architects HOK - who designed Wembley Stadium - is the first part of a 10-year overhaul."
Expect it to be late and massively over budget then |
