Pottsie: "Formula One can be boring"
http://www.theage.com.au/news/sport/...998527564.html
Mark Webber has stated the bleeding obvious in an interview given to the BBC that Formula One races can sometimes be boring and opines that the 2009 rule changes may not bring about exciting races. |

I can imagine him going on Mastermind
Name : Mark Webber Occupation : Racing drive Specialist subject : The bleeding obvious Let's hope 2009's rule changes work, if they don't something more extreme is needed - be it ground effect, softer tyres or whatever. Last edited by duke_toaster; 23 Dec 2008 at 22:48. |

Hes not exactly saying the 2009 rules wont work, but pointing out their effect on spreading out the field wont see the close racing we've enjoyed the past 2 years, especially in the midfield.

The changes the FIA have made for 2009 certainly aren't "all they could do" to improve the racing.
- Wider chassis - Wider rear tyres - Underbody aero - Heavier cars - Smaller brake discs All these things would help to improve the racing. |

He's right.
Like most sports F1 is sometimes boring, and sometimes exciting. |

I still watch F1 but mark's right it is a dull form of motorsport unless a wet race, for me it all went down hill in the early 90's and then the FIA's constant meddling with the rules. Reverse grids, weight ballast would be a good start to more exciting races maybe. I perfer GP2 which is everything F1 is not at the moment

I love Mark, his uncanny ability to state what has been said a million times before is so utterly refreshing and unique.
