Nope, but it'd be neat if he succeeded. Whilst there is something a little bit scary about the thought of him on an oval, it would be a good snag for the IRL. He may not be absolutely brilliant, but he faired reasonably well in F1 so he has ample enough talent to be good in the IRL. His junior record was certainly good enough!
I ain't got a scooby who the team may be, but with a bit of luck he'll give up on the idea of F1 in 2010 and sign a deal with a team in this series for then. |

If they 'need Honda's help' I can't really see them doing it. Honda are hardly adding to their motorsport campaigns and I can't really see them shelling out for this. Still, it would be great to see him in the IRL

Yes, the team that may bring Sato over is De Ferran Motorsports, Gil De Ferran's team. He may bring him or Scott Sharp back to the IRL as soon as the Indy 500.

I could see Honda giving some cash to net a ride (in Motegi, at least). I don't suppose it would need to be extreme amounts for an IRL ride, and Sato is a popular guy in Japan.
If Sato could get some decent results, then perhaps it would be a pretty cheap PR option? |
