TOCA Race Driver

Does anyone know anything about the forthcoming codemasters release "TOCA Race Driver" Is it going to include the 2002 cars?

Ive had a look on the codemasters site but it dont say much. The reason ive brought this up is that I know it is to include the 2001 cars ie. Astra,Pug,MG,Lexus,Alfa but on the ITV highlights in the end credits it showed codemasters. This was obviously the track models they used which were very good. But they also showed models of the new cars, Honda, Proton. I wonder if these are to be included at the last minute?

Does anyone know?

The BTCC cars look rubbish in comparison to the OZ V8s and the DTM cars.

Codies hadn't finished their negotiations with the manufacturers about which cars they'd include in the final game last time they punted out a press release on the game.

However, what you may want to bear in mind is that when the last batch of pictures had been released, hardly any teams had displayed their cars in their 2002 liveries, and retexturing a polygon model like that of a car isn't all that difficult on the new machines. if you look at games like F1 2002, the first few pics of that game had 2001 cars, but now the game is out (on Xbox at least), they have the correct car liveries for this season (even if the cars models of the machines below williams are actually last seasons ones).

In short - if Codies have the 2002 licenses (which they may or may not do), they'll use the 2002 cars. There's plenty of time until the game's out in mid July.
